Garibaldi Alves Filho
Garibaldi Alves Filho (born 4 February 1947) is a Brazilian politician and former President of the Federal Senate. Filho was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. Prior to his appointment as President of the Senate, he served as a deputy to the Rio Grande do Norte Legislative Assembly for four legislative sessions (1971–1985), mayor of Natal (1986–1989), and governor of Rio Grande do Norte for two successive periods (1995–2002). One of the main focuses of his governorship was water resources: he succeeded in providing an estimated 1 million people with a clean water supply and in reducing infant mortality by almost 60%. Wilma De Faria
Wilma de Faria (17 February 1945 – 15 June 2017) was a Brazilian politician. She served as the governor of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte from 2003 to 2010, the first woman to hold the position. She was a member of the AVANTE. Death Wilma de Faria died on 15 June 2017, aged 72, at São Lucas Nursing Home, in Natal, due to multiple organ failure. She was also victim of a cancer in the digestive system, diagnosed two years before. Her corpse was veiled at Our Lady of the Presentation Cathedral and later buried at Morada da Paz Cemetery. Micarla De Sousa
Micarla AraĂșjo de Sousa Weber is a Brazilian journalist, politician and former mayor of Natal. She is Natal's second female mayor. She is affiliated with the Green Party. She graduated with a degree in journalism from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In 2004, she was elected vice mayor of Natal plate by the then mayor, Carlos Eduardo Alves. In 2006, she resigned as vice mayor and applied the member state, the most voted. In 2008, she applied for and was elected mayor. Her term ended in 2012.
