The Mayor of Lucknow is the head of Lucknow Municipal Corporation. The mayor is the first citizen of the city. The Mayor plays a decorative role of representing and upholding the dignity of the city and a functional role in deliberating over the discussions in the corporation. Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is a local government for Lucknow, the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Dinesh Sharma is an Indian politician who was the deputy Chief minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2017 to 2022. He was previously the mayor of Lucknow. A professor by profession, he is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and he has held various posts in the party. Political career Sharma's political talent was first noticed by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
