Aust-Agder
Aust-Agder (, en, "East Agder") was a county (''fylke'') in Norway until 1 January 2020, when it was merged with Vest-Agder to form Agder county. In 2002, there were 102,945 inhabitants, which was 2.2% of Norway's population. Its area was . The county's administrative center was the town of Arendal. The county, located along the Skagerrak coast, extended from Gjernestangen at Risør to the Kvåsefjorden in Lillesand. The inner parts of the area included Setesdalsheiene and Austheiene. Most of the population lives near the coast; about 78% of the county's inhabitants live in the five coastal municipalities of Arendal, Grimstad, Lillesand, Tvedestrand, and Risør. The rest of the county is sparsely populated. Tourism is important, as Arendal and the other coastal towns are popular attractions. Kilefjorden
Kilefjorden is a lake on in Agder county, Norway. The lake is located on the border of the municipalities of Evje og Hornnes, Iveland, and Vennesla. The lake is part of the river Otra. The lake is located about west of the village of Birketveit in Iveland, about north of the village of Hægeland in Vennesla, and about south of the village of Hornnes in Evje og Hornnes. The steamship Bjoren worked in this lake from 1866–1896 transporting people and items across the lake. In 1896, the boat was moved to the Byglandsfjorden. The Norwegian National Road 9 runs along the southwestern end of the lake. Prior to 1950, the lake's outflow was at the waterfall ''Soga'' on the southeast end of the lake. In 1950, the Gåseflå dam was built further upstream creating the lake Gåseflåfjorden which adjoins the Kilefjorden at the same surface elevation so the waterfall is now underwater and it can only be seen when the lake Gåseflå is lowered for work on the power station. Reinevatn
Reinevatn ( en, Reindeer Lake) is a lake in the municipality of Bykle in Agder county, Norway. The lake is located south of the lakes Store Urevatn and Vatndalsvatnet in the Setesdalsheiene mountains in the Setesdal valley, about northwest of the village of Bykle. The lake has a dam on the southern edge which keeps the water level at an elevation of above sea level. The dam's spillway flows into the nearby river Skargjesåni. Ormsavatnet is a lake in the municipality of Bykle in Agder county, Norway. The lake flows into the Vatndalsvatnet via a dam and canal. The lake is located in the Setesdalsheiene mountains near the lakes Store Urevatn, Holmevatnet, and Hartevatnet. The nearest village area is Hovden, about to the northeast. Ogge
Ogge is a lake in the municipalities of Birkenes and Iveland in Agder county, Norway. It is located about north of the city of Kristiansand, just east of the villages of Vatnestrøm (in Iveland) and Oggevatn (in Birkenes). The lake includes about 360 islands and reefs. The overall length of the lake is approximately . The Sørlandsbanen railway line and the Norwegian County Road 405 both run along the west side of the lake. Recreation Ogge is a place for canoeing and kayaking. It has a number of camping sites with restrooms and picnic facilities on many of the small islands. Very little of the shoreline is private property. On canoe trips, there are moose (''Alces alces''), beaver, and varied birdlife. Canoes can be rented locally. Nystølfjorden is a lake on the border of the municipalities of Birkenes and Froland in Agder county, Norway. It is part of the Tovdalselva river drainage basin. It flows into the Vågsdalsfjorden and eventually the Uldalsåna before emptying into the Herefossfjorden. Nelaug (lake)
Nelaug is a lake in the municipalities of Froland and Åmli in Agder county, Norway. The lake is formed by a dam which regulates a hydroelectric power plant on the Nidelva river. The village of Nelaug is located near the dam in Froland municipality. The lake is located about south of the village of Åmli, about southeast of the village of Dølemo, and about north of Blakstad. Name The Old Norse form of the name must have been ''Niðlaug''. The first element ''Nið'' is the old name of the river Nidelva and the last element is ''laug'' which means "lake". Nasvatn is a lake in the municipality of Åmli in Agder county, Norway. It is located about north of the village of Hillestad in the mountains above the Tovdal river valley. The lake has a small dam on the southwestern end, and the water leaving the lake goes down a large waterfall and eventually drains in the river Tovdalselva.
