Vermont
Vermont () is a state in the northeast New England region of the United States. Vermont is bordered by the states of Massachusetts to the south, New Hampshire to the east, and New York to the west, and the Canadian province of Quebec to the north. Admitted to the union in 1791 as the 14th state, it is the only state in New England not bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. Rice Memorial High School
Rice Memorial High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary and college preparatory school in South Burlington, Vermont. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington. The student body is mostly drawn from Northern and Central Vermont but includes other students including international students. The school and buildings were named for Bishop Joseph Rice who had established Cathedral High School in 1917. History Rice Memorial High School was opened on February 1, 1959 by Bishop Robert Joyce. Previous to this the school was known as Cathedral High School, which had been founded in 1917, and was located in Burlington, Vermont. Rice Memorial High School was built to replace the decaying building of Cathedral High School. On the day it became Rice Memorial High School, 900 students marched from the old Cathedral High School to the new high school. North Country Union High School
North Country Union High School (NCUHS, North Country, or NCU) is a secondary school located in Newport, Vermont, United States. It is operated by the North Country Supervisory Union school district. The school serves students from Newport City, Newport Town, Derby, Charleston, Jay, Troy, North Troy, Coventry, Brighton, Holland, Morgan, Westfield and Lowell. Enrollment ranges between 1100 and 1200 students. NCU is affiliated with the North Country Career Center, a regional technical center that shares the NCU building. The school colors are maroon and blue, and its mascot is the Falcon. History The school stands on what was once Veterans' Park. The local American Legion post donated the land to the school district. Lake Region Union High School, commonly known as Lake Region, is a secondary school located in Barton, in the U.S. state of Vermont. The school is operated by the Orleans Central Supervisory Union school district. The school serves students from Barton, Orleans, Irasburg, Albany, Brownington, Glover, Coventry and Westmore. History The building was opened in 1967 to replace two high schools in the Town of Barton, Orleans High School and Barton Academy. Craftsbury Academy
Craftsbury Academy is a term that is generally applied to the high school portion of the Craftsbury School System located in Craftsbury, Orleans County, Vermont, although occasionally it is extended to include the middle school as well, because it shares many resources with the high school. The school has operated continuously since 1832, making it one of the oldest in the state. It faces Craftsbury Common. In the 21st century various building projects have upgraded the aging facilities, including a complete renovation of the old Academy Building, the annex (a relocated historic church converted into classroom space), and the World War II Memorial gymnasium. Thetford Academy is a coeducational independent school in Thetford, Vermont. Located at 304 Academy Road in Thetford Center, Vermont, it is the state's oldest secondary school. Thetford Academy celebrated its bicentennial year in 2018–2019. An historic New England Town Academy (one of approximately 20 remaining in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Connecticut), Thetford Academy serves as the designated public school for the town of Thetford. Peoples Academy
The Peoples Academy is a historic high school in Morrisville, Vermont. In 1996, the main school building, along with the observatory and bandshell located on the school grounds, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All of the structures are bequests of George C. Grout and native son Alexander Hamilton Copley. The latter donated both the land and building that form the Peoples Academy, which serves as the local public high school and is a major local work of Classical Revival architecture. Lamoille Union High School (LUHS) is a public secondary school located in Hyde Park, Vermont on RT. 15 West. The school shares its campus with Lamoille Union Middle School and the Green Mountain Technology & Career Center. Missisquoi Valley Union Middle/High School
Missisquoi Valley Union (MVU) is a middle and high school, grades 7–12, located in Swanton, Vermont, United States. MVU's campus contains two main buildings. The school serves the communities of Swanton, Highgate, and Franklin. Students from Sheldon and Alburgh are given the choice to attend MVU or another surrounding school. There were 902 students and 94 teachers for the 2014–2015 school year. MVU is located just off exit 21 of I-89. MVU and UVM is a palindrome. Infrastructure Misssiquoi Valley Union's main/original building was constructed in an open design format with five circular self-contained "pods" to house the more than 1000 expected students. Geography The New England town of Fairfax is in southern Franklin County and is bordered by Chittenden County to the south.
