Takhar Province
Takhar (Dari , Farsi/Pashto: ) is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan, located in the northeast of the country next to Tajikistan. It is surrounded by Badakhshan in the east, Panjshir in the south, and Baghlan and Kunduz in the west. The city of Taloqan serves as its capital. The province contains 17 districts, over 1,000 villages, and approximately 1,113,173 people, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. The city was attacked during the 2021 Taliban offensive (which coincided with the withdrawal of United States troops). On May 2, 2021, PiramQul Ziayi, the most influential anti-Taliban figure in Takhar, was assassinated in Rustaq district. Abdul Jabar Taqwa
Abdul Jab(b)ar Taqwa (born 20 February 1949, in Kabul) served as governor of Parwan Province. He was educated in Afghanistan before attending University of Peshawar in Peshawar, Pakistan. Abdul Haq Shafaq ( prs, عبدالحق شفق) is an ethnic Hazara politician in Afghanistan. He is the former governor of Faryab, Daykundi, Samangan and Sar-e Pol provinces. Abdul Haq Shafaq is former commander of the Hezbe Wahdat. After the fall of the Taliban he was appointed governor of Sar-e Pol Province. Fazlullah Mujadedi ( fa, فضل الله مجددی) also known as Abdul Hameed Mujadedi or Abdul Hameed Fazlullah Mujadedi (alternatively spelled as Mujaddedi Mujaddidi Mojadeddi Mujadidi) (1956 – June 2021) was an Afghan politician in Afghanistan, previously serving as Governor of Logar , Laghman and Takhar provinces. He was one of the prominent commanders of Jamiat-e Islami during the 1980s Soviet–Afghan War. General Mohammad Yasin Zia (Dari: ), is an Afghan military officer and politician. He is a former Chief of General Staff, former Deputy Defense Minister, and former governor of Takhar Province, Afghanistan. Zia has also served as head of Afghanistan's counter terrorism unit (2011) and as the deputy director of the National Directorate of Security (2011–2015). In 2022, he was reported to be one of the leaders of the anti-Taliban Afghanistan Freedom Front resistance movement.
