List Of Formations Of The Bangladesh Army
The Bangladesh Army is headed by the Chief of Army Staff in the rank of four star general. Under the command of Army Headquarters, Bangladesh Army has 10 division-size regional commands and one Army training and doctrine command. The army training and doctrine command is headed by a general officer commanding in the rank of lieutenant general. Each regional command and respective division is headed by a major general. In addition, there are several independent brigades commanded by a brigade commander in the rank of brigadier general. Bangladesh Army
The Bangladesh Army is the land warfare branch and the largest component of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary mission of the Army is to provide necessary forces and capabilities to deliver the Bangladeshi government's security and defence strategies and defending the nation's territorial integrity against external attack. School Of Infantry And Tactics
School of Infantry and Tactics is a Bangladesh army infantry and special forces training institute. The institute was founded in 1973 and is based in Jalalabad Cantonment. History The institute was formed on 19 March 1973 at Comilla Cantonment. It was originally called School of Infantry. In 1974 the a tactical wing was added and it was moved to Jessore Cantonment and renamed School of Infantry and Tactics. In the same year it was renamed COMBAS and divided into separate schools for armour, artillery, engineers, and infantry. In August 1977 the institute was renamed back to School of Infantry and Tactics as it became focused again on infantry training and other branches of the army developed their own training institutes. 17th Infantry Division (Bangladesh)
The 17th Infantry Division is a formation of the Bangladesh Army. It was formed as part of the development vision of Bangladesh Armed Forces Forces Goal 2030. It is located in Sylhet Division. History The division was officially formed on 17 September 2013 according to Forces Goal-2030 . Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally announced the raising of the division by hoisting the divisional flag at Jalalabad Cantonment. The division started its journey with the formation of 360 Infantry Brigade and the 32 and 33 Bangladesh Infantry Regiments. The 11th Infantry Division ( bn, ১১ম পদাতিক ডিভিশন) is a formation of the Bangladesh Army based in Bogra Cantonment. History In February 1996, President of Bangladesh Abdur Rahman Biswas dismissed the General officer commanding the 11th Infantry Division G.H. Murshed Khan for insubordination and Brigadier General Hameedur Rehman of Bangladesh Rifles. The 7th Infantry Division is a formation of the Bangladesh Army. It's located in ''Lebukhali'' of Patuakhali District. This is the first Bangladesh Army formation in the Barisal Division.
