There are 28 universities in Telangana. Of these, there are 17 state universities, three deemed universities, three central and five private universities. The Osmania University is the largest in the state. It is also the oldest university in the state, established in 1918. Apart from the universities, there are several research and educational institutes in Telangana. These include four institutes of national importance, which are the AIIMS Bibinagar, IIT Hyderabad, NIPER Hyderabad, and NIT Warangal. The English and Foreign Languages University known as EFLU is a central university for English and foreign languages located in Hyderabad, India. It is the only such university dedicated to languages in South Asia. Maulana Azad National Urdu University
Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a Central University located in the city of Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana. It was named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Minister of Education, a freedom fighter in India's struggle for independence, and a scholar of Islam and Urdu literature. The higher education system in India includes both private and public universities. Public universities are supported by the Government of India and the state governments, while private universities are mostly supported by various bodies and societies. Nalgonda
Nalgonda is a city and municipality in the Indian state of Telangana. It is the headquarters of the Nalgonda district, as well as the headquarters of the Nalgonda mandal in the Nalgonda revenue division. It is located about from the state capital Hyderabad. Kakatiya University is a public university located in Hanmakonda, Warangal in the Indian state of Telangana. It was most recently accredited with an "A" Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India on 12 September 2017.
