The chief minister of Punjab (; ) is the head of government of the Pakistani province of Punjab. The chief minister leads the legislative branch of the provincial government, and is elected by the provincial assembly for Provincial Assembly. Given that they have the confidence of the assembly, the chief minister's term is for five years and is subject to no term limits. Maryam Nawaz Sharif is the current elected chief minister of Punjab who won her seat in the 2024 general elections. The office of Chief Minister is located in Lahore, the capital of the Punjab province and is known as the ''CM Secretariat''. The flag of Punjab is the official flag of the Pakistani Administrative units of Pakistan, province of Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab. It uses the same colours as the Flag of Pakistan, national flag of Pakistan, dark green and white. The emblem of the province representing the five rivers of the Punjab region, a Pakistani flag and crescent and wheat of the fertile region, forms the centre of the flag with "Government of Punjab" written in Punjabi language, Punjabi (Shahmukhi). Muhammad Hanif Ramay () (1930 – 1 January 2006) was an internationally renowned intellectual, painter, journalist and former Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab, and he was among the founding fathers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar (; born 2 August 1937) is a Pakistani politician and feudal lord who has previously served as the Chief Minister of Punjab and Governor of Punjab. Malik Meraj Khalid (; 1 February 1916 – 13 June 2003) was a Pakistani advocate, left wing politician and Marxist philosopher who served as the Caretaker prime minister of Pakistan from November 1996 until February 1997.
