The New Taipei Bridge () is a bridge in Sanchong District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It spans over Erchong Floodway. Nuomi Bridge
Nuomi Bridge ( zh, t=糯米橋, p=Nuòmǐqiáo, l=sticky rice bridge), alternatively the Nuomishih Bridge ( zh, t=糯米石橋, labels=no) or the Beigangxi Stone Bridge ( zh, t=北港溪石橋, labels=no), is a masonry arch bridge in Guoxing, Nantou County, Taiwan. Completed in 1940, the bridge spans the Beigang River, one of the headwaters of the Dadu River, near Beigang Village. The bridge is known for its use of sticky rice mortar and is a protected monument in Nantou County. History Before the Nuomi Bridge was built, a simple wooden bridge existed near the site. During Japan's rule over Taiwan, the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service wished to shorten the transportation time between its two airfields in Tōsei (now Dongshi) and Hori (now Puli), so a road was built transversing through the mountainous terrain. Xiwei Bridge
Xiwei Bridge ( zh, t=溪尾大橋, p=Xīwěi Dàqiáo) is a bridge across the Dadu River in Wuri District, Taichung City, Taiwan. The bridge connects Taichung with Xiwei Village, a pene-exclave on the southwest bank of the river. Another bridge, known as the Xiwei Second Bridge ( zh, t=溪尾二橋), serves as the road's westward extension into Fenyuan Township, Changhua County. History The Dadu River has historically been the boundary between Taichung and Changhua. On August 7, 1959, a major flood changed the course of the river and isolated Xiwei Village from the rest of Taichung. While there are multiple roads connecting Xiwei to Changhua County, there was no direct method for Xiwei residents to reach Taichung. The groundbreaking ceremony for the main bridge was held on July 30, 2014, and the bridge's construction was completed on November 21, 2016. Xiluo Bridge
The Xiluo Bridge () is a bridge connecting Xiluo Township in Yunlin County and Xizhou Township in Changhua County in Taiwan crossing over Zhuoshui River. History Empire of Japan On 24 March 1936, the local people of the area set up a committee to construct a bridge over the Zhuoshui River. They pledged construction effort to the Japanese government and work began in October 1937. As of March 1940, 32 piers had been completed. However, construction was suspended after the outbreak of war against the United States on 7 December 1941. The Japanese government then moved the materials for the bridge to Hainan, Republic of China. Teldreka Bridge
The Teldreka Bridge () is a bridge in Maolin District, Kaohsiung in Taiwan. Name ''Teldreka'' is derived from Rukai language name for Maolin. History In August 2009, Typhoon Morakot hit Taiwan and caused the road near the entrance of Maolin National Scenic Area to collapse. Due to that incident, the Kaohsiung County Government decided to build a bridge. The construction of the whole section of the bridge started on 14 December 2010 and was completed in April 2013 with a cost of NT$700 million. The bridge was opened on 20 April 2013 and was inaugurated on 11 May 2013. Technical specifications The bridge crosses the Zhuokou River. The section of the bridge that runs over the river is long. Taiping Sky Bridge
The Taiping Sky Bridge () is a suspension bridge in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. It is the longest suspension bridge in Taiwan. History The bridge was inaugurated on 20 August 2017 in a ceremony attended by Chiayi Magistrate Helen Chang. It then opened on 23 September 2017. Architecture The bridge spans over a length of 281 meters with a height of about 1,000 meters above sea level. Shigupan Tourist Bridge
The Shigupan Tourist Bridge () is a bridge in Alishan Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. History After the 1999 Jiji earthquake cut off the area in Alishan, road infrastructures were reconstructed with a total cost of NT$170 million. The roads were eventually completed in 2007 and the Shigupan Tourist Bridge was also established soon afterwards.
