The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Democratic Republic of Congo is the United Kingdom's foremost diplomatic representative in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and head of the UK's diplomatic mission in Kinshasa. From 1968 to 1987, and since 1991, the British ambassador to the DRC has also been non-resident ambassador to the neighbouring Republic of Congo. Robert Cormack (diplomat)
Robert Cormack FRSE is a Scottish emeritus professor who retired in late 2009 from the UHI Millennium Institute. He taught at Queen's University, Belfast where his service spanned the troubles in Northern Ireland. He became a leading specialist and author on equal opportunities, discrimination and public policy in Northern Ireland. With his colleague, Professor Robert Osborne, Professor Cormack undertook much of the early research on the differences in education and employment between the two communities in Northern Ireland. This led to major changes in fair employment legislation and in the funding of Catholic schools. John Murton (diplomat)
John Evan Murton (born 1972) is a British diplomat. He is currently the UK's COP26 Envoy and responsible for coordinating UK diplomacy in relation to COP26. Prior to this, he served in Kinshasa as British Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was also non-resident British Ambassador to the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic. He was previously the UK's Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN HABITAT as well as Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya. Between 2010 and 2013 he was head of the FCO's East Asia and Pacific Department and the UK's senior official at the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Between 2007 and 2010 he was British High Commissioner to Mauritius and non-resident Ambassador to Madagascar and Comoros. Diane Corner OBE (born 29 September 1959) is a former British diplomat who is deputy head of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). Career Diane Louise Corner was educated at Winchester County High School for Girls, Peter Symonds College and the University of Bristol. She holds degrees in both French and Politics. Desmond Patrick Neil Wigan is a British diplomat who was UK Ambassador to Somalia from 2013 to 2015. Since 13 June 2019, he serves as the British ambassador to Israel, replacing David Quarrey. Sir Nicholas Peter Kay (born 8 March 1958) is a British diplomat. He has served as the British ambassador to Afghanistan, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Andrew Sparkes CMG (born 4 July 1959) is a former British diplomat who was ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kosovo and Nepal. Career Andrew James Sparkes was educated at King Edward's School, Birmingham, Manchester Grammar School and Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
