The Plane Train
The Plane Train is a 24/7 automated people mover (APM) at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport that transports passengers between the terminals and the airside concourses. The system is the world's most heavily traveled airport APM, with 64 million riders . System operation The Plane Train operates underground in two tunnels bracketing a pedestrian walkway in the airport's Transportation Mall. The system has eight stations that are all within the secure area of the airport, one at each of Concourses A, B, C, D, E and F (International Terminal), and two in the Domestic Terminalone at Concourse T, which is also the station for passengers from the Domestic Terminal heading to Concourses A–F, and one at the domestic baggage claim and ground transportation. ATL SkyTrain
The ATL SkyTrain is an 24/7 automated people mover (APM) at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport that runs between the domestic terminal and rental car center. Layout and operation The system opened on December 8, 2009, to connect the airport's domestic terminal with the newly opened rental car center and Gateway Center of the Georgia International Convention Center. Unlike The Plane Train, which is underground inside the secure zone of the airport, the ATL SkyTrain is located outside the airport's secure zone and is elevated, crossing Interstate 85. The ride between the terminal and the rental car center takes 5 minutes, a two and a half minute wait at each station. The Aerotrén is a people mover cable-propelled operating at Mexico City International Airport, near Mexico City, in Mexico. The automated people mover (APM) provides a link between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Opened in 2007, it was part of the major expansion to the airport, which is the busiest in Latin America. The link is only designed to transfer passengers connecting between flights, who must be in possession of and show a valid boarding pass.
