Russian bandy champion () is a title held by the winners of the final of the highest Russian bandy league played each year, currently the Bandy Super League. The championship is for men's teams. There is also a women's bandy championship. The Russian championship is seen as a direct continuation of the Soviet Union championship. Many Russian bandy clubs were formed during the Soviet years. Therefore, this list also include the Soviet Union champions until the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. History The first national bandy championship in the then Soviet Union was held in 1936 but wasn't resumed for the next 14 years. Starting in 1950, the Soviet Union Bandy Championship became annual and continued to exist up until the 1990-91 season, when mid-season, the Soviet Union was dissolved, so the 1991 champion was instead named Champion of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Vodnik Arkhangelsk
Vodnik (russian: Водник) is a bandy club from Arkhangelsk in Russia. Vodnik was founded in 1925. During the existence of the Soviet Union the club was a part of the Voluntary Sports Societies of the USSR Vodnik. Vodnik became Russian champions in 1996 to begin a run of nine national championships in ten seasons, missing out only in the 2000–01 season when Yenisey scored the winning goal against them in the last minute. In the 2002 Bandy World Cup, Vodnik were the runner-ups after the Swedish club Sandvikens AIK, but won the tournament in 2003 and 2004. The team also won the European Cup in 2002, 2003 and 2004. For the 2005–06 season almost all players left for Dynamo Moscow, when that club had qualified for the highest division again after a few seasons in the second tier. Start () is a professional bandy club from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, established in 1932. It plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top division of Russian bandy. Start was founded in 1932 as a team called Novoye Sormovo. The name was changed to Zenit (Zenith) in 1936, Trud (Labor) in 1959 and ultimately Start Gorky in 1960. When the city of Gorky changed its names to Nizhny Novgorod in 1990, the club changed names accordingly. It played in the elite division of the Soviet bandy championship in 1967–1969, the 1973–74 season and permanently since the 1975–76 season. Zorky (russian: Зоркий) is a bandy club based in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Russia. Its team currently plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top tier of the Russian bandy championship. The club was founded in 1954. Zorky have had some recent successes and reached the finals of the Bandy World Cup, Russian Cup and Champions Cup in the 2006–07 season only to lose to Dynamo Moscow in all three matches. In 2009 they reached the World Cup final again, this time losing to Hammarby. In 2012, they won the World Cup. The team was the best team of the regular season of the Russian Bandy Super League 2012–13 but lost the final against Dynamo Moscow for the national championship. Yenisey (russian: Енисе́й) is a bandy club from Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Yenisey has historically been a very successful club, having won the national championship sixteen times, last in 2021, and the Bandy World Cup in 1982, 1984, 2011 and 2015 and been runners-up in 1983, 1985 and 2000. After the 2011/12 season, Sergey Lomanov Jr was named the best player of the national championship. In 2017, former Mayor of Krasnoyarsk, Pyotr Pimashkov, became the new club president. KhK Kuzbass (russian: ХК Кузбасс) is a professional bandy club from Kemerovo, Russia, established in 1948. It plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top division of Russian bandy. The home games are played at Khimik Stadium in Kemerovo. While during the 2016-17 season, the indoor arena was their base, 2017-18 it will be Khimik again.
