Branislav Mitrović ( sr-cyr, Бранислав Митровић; born 30 January 1985) is a Serbian water polo goalkeeper for Vasas and the Serbia men's national water polo team. Igor Hinić
Igor Hinić (born 4 December 1975) is a Croatian former professional water polo player, who was a member of the Croatia national team, that won the silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Hinić played in five consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country from 1996 to 2012. He is, jointly with Greek Georgios Afroudakis and Hungarian Tamás Kásás, the tenth athlete to compete in water polo at five Olympics. He was also voted the Croatia national team's most valuable player. He played for Primorje, Brescia, Mladost, Enka Istanbul, and was right handed. He won the Italian Championship 2003, and Turkish Championship in 2015. Currently, Hinić is the coach in his hometown of Rijeka. He is 6'8" tall and weighs 243 lbs. Dezső Gyarmati
Dezső Gyarmati (23 October 1927 – 18 August 2013) was a Hungarian water polo player and three-time Olympic champion; he later became the coach of the Hungarian national water polo team. Widely regarded as a "legendary player", Gyarmati was the most decorated player in the history of the sport. Early life and family Dezső Gyarmati was born in Miskolc, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén. He married Éva Székely, a swimmer who was the 1952 Olympic champion in the 200-metre breaststroke. Their daughter Andrea Gyarmati has competed as a backstroke and butterfly swimmer; she received two Olympic medals in 1972, and is a one-time world record holder for the 100 metres butterfly. István Barta
István Barta (13 August 1895 – 16 February 1948) was a Hungarian water polo player who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics, in the 1928 Summer Olympics, and in the 1932 Summer Olympics. Barta, who was Jewish, was born in Álmosd. He first competed at the Olympics in 1924. As a member of the Hungarian water polo team he finished seventh. He played all four matches as goalkeeper. On club level he played for Újpesti TE He was part of the Hungarian water polo team which won the silver medal in 1928 and the gold medal 1936. In Amsterdam at the 1928 Summer Olympics he played all four matches as goalkeeper. Four years later in Los Angeles he played one match as goalkeeper. He died in Budapest. Istvan had a daughter Julia who emigrated to Canada and became a pediatrician in Montreal. Gojko Pijetlović ( sr-cyr, Гојко Пијетловић; born 7 August 1983) is a Serbian water polo player who plays as goalkeeper for VK Novi Beograd and the Serbia men's national water polo team. He was voted the best goalkeeper of 2014 European Championship. He was a member of the Serbian teams that won Olympic gold medals in 2016 and 2020, and a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics. William Henry (swimmer)
William Henry (28 June 1859 – 20 March 1928), born Joseph Nawrocki, was an English competitive swimmer and lifesaver who represented Great Britain in international competition. Biography He was of Polish ancestry, and changed his original Polish surname Nawrocki to the English "Henry". He was a co-founder of the Royal Life Saving Society. As a swimmer he won a number of national and European championships. In 1906, at 46, he became the oldest ever Olympic medal winner in swimming as a member of the British men's 4×250-metre relay team which won the bronze medal. He won a gold medal in the 1900 Summer Olympics for Water Polo. Henry is an International Swimming Hall of Fame inductee. He was the swimming instructor for the British Royal Family, using the swimming pool at the Bath Club, Dover Street. He helped to formalise the rules of water polo. Charles Sydney Smith
Charles Sydney Smith (26 January 1879 – 6 April 1951) was born in Wigan, the ninth of eleven children born to Thomas Smith and Elizabeth née Sayer. He was a British water polo player who competed as goalkeeper for the England Water Polo team which won gold medals in the London games of 1908, and the Stockholm games of 1912. After the Great War he returned, at the age of 44, as part of the Great Britain team to win a third gold medal at the Antwerp games in 1920. He was still in the team four years later competing in the Paris games of 1924 where the team was knocked out in the first round by the Hungarian team after extra time. Smith is the oldest water polo player to compete at the Olympics. On 13 July 1924, he played his last match at the age of 45 years and 169 days in the Paris Olympics.
