The following is a list of drafts held by National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), with a brief description of each. Preseason 2013 (inaugural) *2013 NWSL College Draft: Held January 18 at the annual NSCAA convention, this year in Indianapolis, the draft allowed all eight teams to draft four players who had completed their college eligibility. While they had originally announced that the draft would be in snake format with randomly determined order, NWSL announced several days before the draft that the order would be the same in each of the four rounds, with the order semi-randomly determined with weighting based on evaluation of the allocation results. * 2013 NWSL Supplemental Draft: After a limited free agency period, NWSL pooled remaining players who were identified by the teams to be distributed via draft. National Women's Soccer League
The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a professional women's soccer league at the top of the United States league system. It is owned by the teams and, until 2020, was under a management contract with the United States Soccer Federation. The NWSL was established in 2012 as the successor to Women's Professional Soccer (WPS; 2007–2012), which was itself the successor to Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003). Danesha LaVonne Adams (born June 6, 1986) is an American retired soccer forward and midfielder. She is an assistant coach for the Houston Cougars. She played for Portland Thorns FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She previously played for Sky Blue FC and Washington Spirit of the NWSL, Chicago Red Stars and Philadelphia Independence in the WPS, Medkila IL in Norway's Toppserien, Vittsjö GIK in the Swedish Damallsvenskan, and Ataşehir Belediyespor in Turkey's Women's First Football League as well as for the Cleveland Internationals and Pali Blues in the W-League. Seattle Reign FC
OL Reign is an American professional women's soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded by Bill and Teresa Predmore in 2012 as Seattle Reign FC, it was one of eight inaugural members of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). In 2020, OL Groupe, the parent company of French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, became the team's majority owner and rebranded to its current name, badge, and colors. Arianna Romero
Arianna Jeanette Romero Téllez (born 29 July 1992) is an American-born Mexican footballer who plays as a central defender or a fullback for Danish club HB Køge and for the Mexico national team. Youth and collegiate career Youth Romero did not participate in high school soccer at her alma mater, Willow Canyon High School. Instead, she played club soccer in Phoenix, Arizona for Sereno SC under Coach Dave Simeone. As a midfielder/defender, she helped the Sereno 92 Golden Eagles to eight state championships and three Region IV semifinal appearances. Verónica Raquel Pérez Murillo (born 18 May 1988) is an American-born Mexican Association football, footballer who plays as an Midfielder, attacking midfielder for Liga MX Femenil club Atlas F.C. (women). She was a member of the Mexico women's national football team, Mexico women's national team. Between 2009 and 2016 she also played in professional leagues in the United States, Europe, and Australia. Perez retired from international football in 2017 after the newly created Liga MX Femenil restricted eligibility to compete to only Mexico-born players. 2015 NWSL Expansion Draft
The 2015 NWSL Expansion Draft was a special draft held on November 2, 2015 by the National Women's Soccer League to allow expansion side Orlando Pride to select players from existing teams in the league. The Pride were allowed to select up to ten players total from the existing nine NWSL teams from a list of unprotected players previously provided by the clubs. Chicago Red Stars
The Chicago Red Stars are a professional women's soccer club based in Bridgeview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. A founding member of the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league, they have played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) since 2013. WPS was the NWSL's predecessor as the professional women's soccer league in the United States, and the Red Stars played in the WPS in 2009 and 2010. After leaving the WPS in December 2010 due to the league's financial issues, the club joined the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) for the 2011 season. Brittany Christine Bock (born April 11, 1987) is an American soccer midfielder. Early life Bock was born in Naperville, Illinois and attended Neuqua Valley High School. In 2009, she was enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Marketing. Bock played for Windy City Pride from 2002 to 2004 under Ko Thanadabouth.
