Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Francisco Guerrero-Arcocha
Francisco Guerrero Arcocha (born 26 April 1919) was a Mexican tennis player. Born in Madrid, Spain, he moved with his family to Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico when he was six months old. He grew up as a Mexican citizen and was one of the best tennis players in Mexican history. He was a national singles and doubles champion in Mexico. He played tennis at a professional level representing Mexico in many tournaments in different countries, such as France, Spain, Canada and Portugal. Guerrero Arcocha represented Mexico in five Davis Cup ties between 1946 and 1955. He was a men's doubles gold medalist at the 1950 Central American and Caribbean Games (with Gustavo Palafox) and won a further two medals when Mexico hosted the event in 1954, including a bronze in the singles. Santiago González (tennis)
Santiago González Torre (; born 24 February 1983) is a Mexican professional tennis player. His career-high ATP ranking is World No. 155 in singles, achieved in May 2006, and World No. 22 in doubles, achieved in March 2022. He has won 18 ATP doubles titles. In 2017, he reached the French Open final in doubles along with his partner Donald Young. Additionally, he has reached the finals of three other Grand Slam tournaments in the Mixed category: the 2013 French Open and the 2014 and 2015 US Open. Adolfo González
Adolfo González (born 8 January 1952) is a former tennis player from Mexico. Biography González won medals in all three tennis events at the 1975 Pan American Games, including a silver in the men's singles. He also came second in the men's doubles with Raúl Contreras and won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles partnering Alejandra Vallejo. During Mexico's 1976 Davis Cup campaign, González featured in a tie against the Caribbean team at home in Mexico City. He played in the doubles rubber, which he and partner Roberto Chávez won in straight sets, over Alan Price and Michael Valdez. His best performance on the Grand Prix circuit came in 1981 at the Mexico City tournament, where he made it to the semi-finals, with wins over Cliff Letcher, Jimmy Arias and Klaus Eberhard. Alfonso González is a Mexican former professional tennis player. Born in Monterrey, González was active on the professional tour during the 1980s and had a career high singles ranking of 229 in the world. He featured in the main draw of the French Open as a doubles player. González, a Mexican national champion in 1983, represented his country in a 1984 Davis Cup tie against Venezuela in Caracas, playing two rubbers. His doubles win, partnering Fernando Pérez Pascal, secured the tie for Mexico and he then won a reverse singles over Iñaki Calvo. Daniel Garza (; born 8 April 1985) is a Mexican professional tennis player. He participated in the Davis Cup representing Mexico eight times. His most important victory was during the 2008 Davis Cup tie against Uruguay which he won in four sets to Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas on carpet. He has a Davis Cup singles record of 16-8 as well as a doubles record of 6-2 for a combined total of 22-10.
