List Of Mexico City Metro Lines
The Mexico City Metro is the largest and busiest heavy-rail rapid transit system in Mexico and second in North America, only behind the New York City Subway. , the system is composed of 12 lines denominated 1 through 9, 12, A and B, totalling of track length and 195 stations. Of all stations, 115 are underground (either in shallow box-tunnels or deep circular tunnels), 54 are at street-level and 26 are elevated. Line 1: Observatorio – Pantitlán Line 1's Chapultepec - Zaragoza section was the first of the system to be opened, on September 4, 1969. The line was brought to its current length on August 22, 1984 with its final extension from Zaragoza to Pantitlán. Tacuba Metro Station
Tacuba is a station of the Mexico City Metro. It is located in the Tacuba district of the Miguel Hidalgo borough, to the west of downtown Mexico City. It lies along Lines 2 and 7. The station logo depicts three flowers, as its name comes from the Nahuatl language word ''tlacopan'', that which means "land of flowers". It refers to the ancient Tepanec kingdom of Tlacopan that existed in the area in pre-Columbian times. This transfer station was previously the terminal for Metro Line 2 and opened for service along that line on 14 September 1970. Service was extended westward along Line 2 from Tacuba to Panteones and Cuatro Caminos on 22 August 1984. Line 7 opened up through Tacuba on 20 December 1984. NM-02 (Mexico City Metro)
The NM-02 (abbreviated from the Spanish: ''Neumático Mexicano 2002'') is a rubber-tyred model of electrical multiple units used on the Mexico City Metro, first used in 2005 and currently servicing Line 2 and Line 7. History In 2003, as part of a plan to modernize Mexico City Metro, Mexico City's government acquired 45 new NM-02 units to be used in Line 2 with a cost of 550 million dollars. Out of those 45 trains, 31 were already in service during 2005. The trains that were replaced by NM-02 in Line 2, were sent to be serviced in order to be transferred for their use in other lines. The trains were manufactured by Canadian Bombardier and Spanish Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF). 17 units were provided by CAF and the rest by Bombardier. CAF had previously supplied trains for the Mexico City Metro with the NE-92.
