Budak Lapok
''Budak Lapok'' is a 2007 Malaysian animated film. Based on the P. Ramlee film ''Bujang Lapok'', the film premiered on 13 October 2007 and was directed by Anwardi Datuk Jamil. It became the first Malaysian animated movie released in six years since ''Putih'' in 2001. Plot Ramlee, Ajis and Sudin are three kids who befriend one another in a small village called Kampong Sebatang Pinang. The three take part in a football game against defending champions Sekolah Kampong Semerah Padi led by naughty Sarip Dol. Meanwhile, the three boys are also planning to win the hearts of village lasses, Nani, Salmah and Eton, by taking part in the inter-school drama competition even though both Ajis and Sudin are fearful of appearing on stage. Things become complicated when both the drama competition and the soccer match fall on the same day. The three need to come out with a plan to be at two places at almost the same time. Malaysian Animation
Animation in Malaysia (known as ''Animasi'' in Malay) has origins in the puppetry style of '' wayang kulit'', wherein the characters are controlled by the puppeteer, or Tok Dalang. Chinese shadow play inspired German filmmaker Lotte Reiniger to create the animated The Adventures of Prince Achmed in 1926 that was based on one of the stories in the ''1001 Nights stories''. Many of the world's animators have credited Prince Achmed`s recognisable style for generating their initial interest in animation as well as in their works. Early Animation Filem Negara Malaysia ''(Malayan Film Unit)'' The Malayan Film Unit was created by the British colonialists in 1946 with the intent to produce documentaries and public service announcements of the government and later renamed Filem Negara Malaysia. Mechamato Movie
''Mechamato Movie'' is a 2022 Malaysian computer-animated action comedy film and a prequel to the animated series ''Mechamato: The Animated Series''. Produced by Animonsta Studios and distributed by Astro Shaw, the film is directed by Nizam Razak and stars Armand Ezra, Adzlan Nazir, Fadhli Mohd Rawi, Ielham Iskandar, Marissa Balqis, Fazreen Mohd, Hazzley Abu Bakar, and Feroz Faizal. The film follows Amato's first encounter with the MechaBot in a crashed prison spaceship where Amato eventually becomes the MechaBot's new master, leading them to be pursued by Grakakus, an evil alien. Initially announced for a 2021 release, the film was delayed numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This caused the animated series to be released before the movie. New Straits Times
The ''New Straits Times'' is an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia. It is Malaysia's oldest newspaper still in print (though not the first), having been founded as ''The Straits Times'' on 15 July 1845. It was relaunched as the ''New Straits Times'' on 13 August 1974. The paper served as Malaysia's only broadsheet format English-language newspaper. However, following the example of British newspapers ''The Times'' and ''The Independent'', a tabloid version first rolled off the presses on 1 September 2004 and since 18 April 2005, the newspaper has been published only in tabloid size, ending a 160-year-old tradition of broadsheet publication. The ''New Straits Times'' currently retails at RM1.50 (~37 US cents) in Peninsular Malaysia. As of 2 January 2019, the group editor of the newspaper is Rashid Yusof.
