Lea Massari
Lea Massari, born Anna Maria Massetani (born 30 June 1933) is an actress and singer from Italy. Massari was born Anna Maria Massetani in Rome, but changed her name to Lea Massari when she was 22 after the death of her fiancé Leo. She studied architecture in Switzerland. Massari became known in art cinema for two roles: the missing girl Anna in Michelangelo Antonioni's ''L'avventura'' (1960), and as Clara, the mother of a sexually precocious 14-year-old boy named Laurent (Benoît Ferreux) in Louis Malle's ''Murmur of the Heart'' (1971). Massari worked in both Italian and French cinema. Her career includes Sergio Leone's debut '' The Colossus of Rhodes'' (''Il Colosso di Rodi'', 1961) and international commercial films such as ''The Things of Life'' (''Les choses de la vie'', 1970). Monica Vitti
Monica Vitti (born Maria Luisa Ceciarelli; 3 November 1931 – 2 February 2022) was an Italian actress who starred in several award-winning films directed by Michelangelo Antonioni during the 1960s. After working with Antonioni, Vitti changed focus and began making comedies, working with director Mario Monicelli on many other films. She appeared with Marcello Mastroianni, Alain Delon, Richard Harris, Terence Stamp, and Dirk Bogarde. On her death, Italian culture minister Dario Franceschini called her "the Queen of Italian cinema". Vitti won five David di Donatello Awards for Best Actress, seven Italian Golden Globes for Best Actress, the Career Golden Globe, and the Venice Film Festival Career Golden Lion Award. Gabriele Ferzetti (born Pasquale Ferzetti; 17 March 1925 – 2 December 2015) was an Italian actor with more than 160 credits across film, television, and stage. His career was at its peak in the 1950s and 1960s. Ferzetti's first leading role was in the film '' Lo Zappatore'' (1950). ''L'Avventura'' ( en, "The Adventure") is a 1960 Italian drama film directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. Developed from a story by Antonioni with co-writers Elio Bartolini and Tonino Guerra, the film is about the disappearance of a young woman (Lea Massari) during a boating trip in the Mediterranean, and the subsequent search for her by her lover (Gabriele Ferzetti) and her best friend (Monica Vitti). It was filmed on location in Rome, the Aeolian Islands, and Sicily in 1959 under difficult financial and physical conditions. The film is noted for its unusual pacing, which emphasizes visual composition, mood, and character over traditional narrative development. Sergio Fantoni (7 August 1930 – 17 April 2020) was an Italian actor, voice actor and director. Biography Fantoni was born in Rome to the actor Cesare Fantoni. He began his career appearing in films, radio dramas, television and theatrical productions from the late 1940s. He made his debut film appearance alongside his father in the 1949 film ''Anthony of Padua''. In addition to working mainly in his own country, he starred in international productions as well. Fantoni made several appearances in Hollywood films in the 1960s, most notably opposite Frank Sinatra in the war film '' Von Ryan's Express'', made in 1965. In 1960, he played the villainous Haman in ''Esther and the King'', starring Joan Collins and Richard Egan in the title roles. Among his roles in the UK, Fantoni appeared alongside Anglo-Italian actress Cherie Lunghi in the Channel 4 television series ''The Manageress''. Fantoni was also a voice actor. ''Atom Age Vampire'' ( it, Seddok, l'erede di Satana, links=no) is a 1960 Italian horror film directed by Anton Giulio Majano. Shot in black-and-white, the film was produced by Elio Ippolito Mellino and stars Alberto Lupo, Susanne Loret, and Sergio Fantoni. Despite there being no vampires in the film, it was released in the USA as ''Atom Age Vampire'' in 1963 in an 87 minute version. It was further shortened for English language DVD release. Plot When a stripper (Susanne Loret) becomes disfigured in a car accident, a scientist (Dr. Levin, played by Alberto Lupo) develops a treatment to restore her beauty by injecting her with a special serum.
