List Of ISO Standards 10000–11999
This is a list of publishedThis list generally excludes draft versions. International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standardization, standards and other deliverables.ISO deliverables
include "specifications" (ISO/PAS, ISO/TS), "reports" (ISO/TR), etc, which are not referred to by ISO as "standards".
For a complete and up-to-date list of all the ISO standards, see the ISO catalogue. The standards are protected by copyright and most of them must be purchased. However, about 300 of the standards produced by ISO and International Electrotechnical Commission, IEC's Joint Technical Committee 1 (ISO/IEC JTC 1, JTC 1) have been made freely and publicly available.

International Organization For Standardization
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO ; ; ) is an independent, non-governmental, international standard development organization composed of representatives from the national standards organizations of member countries. Membership requirements are given in Article 3 of the ISO Statutes. ISO was founded on 23 February 1947, and () it has published over 25,000 international standards covering almost all aspects of technology and manufacturing. It has over 800 technical committees (TCs) and subcommittees (SCs) to take care of standards development. The organization develops and publishes international standards in technical and nontechnical fields, including everything from manufactured products and technology to food safety, transport, IT, agriculture, and healthcare. More specialized topics like electrical and electronic engineering are instead handled by the International Electrotechnical Commission.Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica. 3 June 2021.Inte ...

ISO/IEC 10149
ISO/IEC JTC 1, entitled "Information technology", is a joint technical committee (JTC) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Its purpose is to develop, maintain and promote standards in the fields of information and communications technology (ICT). JTC 1 has been responsible for many critical IT standards, ranging from the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) image formats and Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) audio and video formats to the C and C++ programming languages. History ISO/IEC JTC 1 was formed in 1987 as a merger between ISO/TC 97 (Information Technology) and IEC/TC 83, with IEC/SC 47B joining later. The intent was to bring together, in a single committee, the IT standardization activities of the two parent organizations in order to avoid duplicative or possibly incompatible standards. At the time of its formation, the mandate of JTC 1 was to develop base standards in information te ...

Hash Function
A hash function is any Function (mathematics), function that can be used to map data (computing), data of arbitrary size to fixed-size values, though there are some hash functions that support variable-length output. The values returned by a hash function are called ''hash values'', ''hash codes'', (''hash/message'') ''digests'', or simply ''hashes''. The values are usually used to index a fixed-size table called a ''hash table''. Use of a hash function to index a hash table is called ''hashing'' or ''scatter-storage addressing''. Hash functions and their associated hash tables are used in data storage and retrieval applications to access data in a small and nearly constant time per retrieval. They require an amount of storage space only fractionally greater than the total space required for the data or records themselves. Hashing is a computationally- and storage-space-efficient form of data access that avoids the non-constant access time of ordered and unordered lists and s ...

ISO/IEC 10116
ISO/IEC 10116 ''Information technology — Security techniques — Modes of operation for an n-bit block cipher'' is an international standard that specifies modes of operation for block ciphers of any length. The modes defined are: * Electronic codebook (ECB) * Cipher block chaining (CBC) * Cipher feedback (CFB) * Output feedback (OFB) * Counter (CTR) The standard notes that some modes require padding Padding is thin cushioned material sometimes added to clothes. Padding may also be referred to as batting or wadding when used as a layer in lining quilts or as a packaging or stuffing material. When padding is used in clothes, it is often done in ..., but states that "Padding techniques ... are not within the scope of this International Standard."ISO-IEC 10116:2006, clause 5, ''Requirements'' References {{DEFAULTSORT:ISO IEC 10116 #10116 ...

Thermal Transmittance
Thermal transmittance is the rate of transfer of heat through matter. The thermal transmittance of a material (such as insulation or concrete) or an assembly (such as a wall or window) is expressed as a R-value (insulation)#U-factor.2FU-value, U-value. The R-value (insulation), thermal insulance of a structure is the reciprocal of its thermal transmittance. U-value Although the concept of U-value (or U-factor) is universal, U-values can be expressed in different units. In most countries, U-value is expressed in SI units, as watts per square metre-kelvin: :W/(m2⋅K) In the United States, U-value is expressed as British thermal units (Btu) per hour-square feet-degrees Fahrenheit: :Btu/(h⋅ft2⋅°F) Within this article, U-values are expressed in SI unless otherwise noted. To convert from SI to US customary values, divide by 5.678. Well-insulated parts of a building have a low thermal transmittance whereas poorly insulated parts of a building have a high thermal transmittance. ...

Message Handling System
Message Handling System (MHS) is an important early email protocol developed by Action Technologies, Inc. (ATI) in 1986. Novell licensed it in 1988 then later bought it. Email clients A wide variety of email clients used MHS, including: * Para-Mail - Paradox Development introduced version 2.0 along with Novell at Comdex 1986. * DaVinci Email - The first Microsoft Windows-based email client used MHS natively. * Pegasus Mail - A free mail client, this used MHS its native protocol. * ExpressIT! and ExpressIT! 2000 - Infinite Technologies' MHS compliant email clients. * FirstMail - A cut-down version of Pegasus Mail, bundled with some versions of NetWare. * Futurus TEAM - Early groupware package offering an MHS compliant email client. * MacAccess - An Apple Macintosh MHS-based email client. Role as a gateway MHS was a very 'open' system, and this, with Novell's encouragement, made it popular in the early 1990s as a 'glue' between not only the proprietary email systems of the da ...
