Clément Maurice
: Clément Maurice (1853–1933) was a French photographer, film director, and producer. Career First employed in the Lumière factories, where he entered in 1894, he became a portrait photographer in Paris, where he settled in Antoine Lumière's studio at 8 boulevard des Italiens, above the Robert-Houdin Theater, property of the future filmmaker Georges Méliès. This and that allow him to enter the world of cinematography. From 1898 to 1906, he was the cameraman for surgeon Eugène Doyen for whom he filmed for educational purposes around sixty operations. He worked there with: Ambroise-François Parnaland (1854 - 1913), who founded in 1908 with Charles Jourjon (1876 - 1934) the Éclair Laboratories. In 1899, the production company Association frères Lumière hired him as a cinematographer collaborator and technician for the shooting of the film Excursion automobile Paris-Meulan. Pierre Renoir
Pierre Renoir (March 21, 1885 – March 11, 1952) was a French stage and film actor. He was the son of the impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and elder brother of the film director Jean Renoir. He is also noted for being the first actor to play Georges Simenon's character Inspector Jules Maigret in ''Night at the Crossroads'', directed by his brother. Life and career Pierre Renoir was born on March 21, 1885, in Paris, at 18 rue Houdon, about a hundred meters from place Pigalle, to painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Aline Charigot. He was married to actress Véra Sergine from 1914 to 1925. For his best remembered role, as Jėricho the ragman in '' Children of Paradise'' (''Les Enfants du Paradis'', 1945), he was cast at short notice to replace the collaborator Robert Le Vigan; Jėricho's scenes had to be reshot after Le Vigan fled. Paulette Noizeux (born Marie-Paule Cœuré; 30 May 1887 – 9 April 1971) was a French stage and film actress who began her career on the stages of France and New York in the 1910s. Her career spanned sixty years. Noizeux was born in Saint-Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France. She made her film debut in the 1911 Abel Gance-directed film short '' La Digue'', opposite actors Jean Renoir and Jean Toulout. The film is notable for being Gance's directoral debut. She would go on to have a prolific stage career in her native France, as well as appearing on Broadway in several plays from 1917 to 1918. A pioneer in the theory and practice of montage, he is best known for three major silent films: ''J'accuse'' (1919), ''La Roue'' (1923), and ''Napoléon'' (1927). Early life Born in Paris in 1889, Abel Gance was the illegitimate son of a prosperous doctor, Abel Flamant, and a working-class mother, Françoise Péréthon (or Perthon).
