Amina Mohamed (film Director)
Amina Mohamed (1908–1985) was an Egyptian dancer, actress and film director. Life Mohamed was from a poor rural background without links to the Cairo art scene. She and her niece, Amina Rizq, moved to Cairo with their mothers; the pair were locked in the house after their first theatrical performance. Amina succeeded in gaining fame as a dancer and actress. Mohamed was director, producer, screenwriter, editor and star of ''Tita Wong'' (1937). The film was shot in collaboration with a group of intellectual friends, including the director Salah Abou Seif and the painters Salah Taher Salah Taher (1911–2007) was an Egyptian painter. Assia Dagher
Assia Dagher ( ar, آسيا داغر; 6 March 1908 – 12 January 1986) was a Lebanese-Egyptian actress and film producer. Biography Dagher (Almaza Dagher) was born in Tannourine, Lebanon on March 6, 1908. She moved to Cairo with her sister Mary, and niece Mary Queeny in 1919, when she was only 11 years old, after the French occupation of Syria and Lebanon. She stayed with Asaad Dagher, her cousin, who was a writer and journalist at the famous Al-Ahram newspaper. She got the Egyptian nationality in 1933. The first time she acted was in 1926 in a film called ''Laila'', directed by Wadad Orfi. Dagher was the first Lebanese to be on the big screen. Mimi Chakib or Mimi Shakib (25 December 1913 – 20 May 1983) ( ar, ميمي شكيب), born Ameena Chakib, was an Egyptian actress. She mostly played secondary roles, and appeared in more than 150 films between 1940s and early 1980s. Career She entered film in 1934 and appeared in films such as '' Nahw El-Magd'' in 1949 and Mahmoud Zulfikar’s '' Virtue for Sale'' in 1950. Naguib El-Rihani
Naguib el-Rihani ( ar, نجيب الريحاني; January 21, 1889 in Cairo – June 8, 1949 in Alexandria) was an Egyptian film and stage actor. Biography Born in Bab El Shereya, Cairo to a middle class family. His father, a Christian who worked as a horse expert and a trader, his mother was a Coptic Egyptian woman from Cairo. He was one of three sons that his parents would have together. He was educated in the French Catholic school "Les Frères" in Cairo. El-Rihani had a turbulent marriage with Badia Masabni, an actress and businesswoman who settled in Cairo after living within the United States for years, and established her famous cabaret, "Casino Badia." They separated before his death. He died at the age of 60 years in Cairo of typhus, while filming his last film, " Ghazal Al Banat". Stephan Rosti ( arz, استفان روستى ) (16 November 1891 – 22 May 1964) was an Egyptian actor and film director who lived and worked in Egypt. Personal Rosti's mother was an Italian Egyptian dancer. She was performing in Egypt when she met Rosti's father, the Austrian ambassador to Cairo. Rosti's mother was enamoured with Egypt to the point that when it was time for the diplomat father to terminate his political assignment (in Cairo) and return to his country, she refused to travel with him and decided to remain in Egypt with her son. To escape the father's attempts to smuggle the child out of Egypt, she escaped with the child to Alexandria and they lived in the Raas Al-Teen neighborhood where Stephan enrolled in its local schools.
