''City Hunter '91'' was broadcast between April 28 and October 10, 1991. The opening theme was "Downtown Game" by Gwinko and the closing theme was "Smile & Smile" by Aura. The series was released on 6 VHS between February and July 1992. A Thirty-Two disc DVD boxset ''City Hunter Complete'' published by Aniplex was released in Japan on August 31, 2005. The set contained all four series, the TV specials and animated movies as well as an art book and figures of Ryo and Kaori. ''City Hunter'' spawned a media franchise consisting of numerous adaptations and spin-offs from several countries. Tsukasa Hojo
is a Japanese manga artist. He studied technical design while still at Kyushu Sangyo University, where he began to draw manga. He worked on several one-shot stories before releasing his serialized works: '' Cat's Eye'', ''City Hunter'' and ''Angel Heart''. After the success of '' Cat's Eye'' and ''City Hunter'', Hojo went on to work on other series such as ''Family Compo''. His current ongoing series is ''Angel Heart'', a spin–off of ''City Hunter'' set in an alternate universe. It has been serialized in the ''Weekly Comic Bunch'' since 2001 and 30 collected volumes have been published so far. Tsukasa Hojo is Takehiko Inoue's mentor. Inoue worked as an assistant to Hojo during the production of ''City Hunter''. Gwinko Kanagushiku ( ryu, 金城 吟子, Kanagushiku Gwinko) born on June 4, 1973, in Okinawa, Japan, is a Japanese singer who is currently a member of the duo Kina & Gwinko Worldchamploo. Biography Gwinko was one of the first batch of students from the Okinawa Actors School. In 1986, she passed an audition hosted by CBS Sony and moved to Tokyo, becoming Okinawa Actors School's first graduate. Gwinko released her debut album ''Yesterday Today Forever'' and single "Star Ship (I'm Going High)" in 1987. She became known for her style of singing R&B with digital sound in the foreground with slightly husky and relaxed vocals, as well as her dance choreography reminiscent of that of Janet Jackson.
