List Of Christian Monasteries In Schleswig-Holstein
This is a list of Christian religious houses in Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, including Hamburg and Lübeck,but not including the famous Cistercian monastery, Lügum Abbey, now Løgum Abbey Løgum Abbey ( da, Løgum kloster; german: Kloster Lügum) was a Cistercian monastery in the present town of Løgumkloster in North Schleswig, Denmark. In 1548, the monastery was closed down. The site is now occupied by Løgumkloster Church. H ..., which was situated at Lügumkloster in North Schleswig, and is thus in Denmark extant and non-extant, and including houses of both men and women. All religious houses were suppressed during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, with the exception of four former nunneries (Itzehoe, Preetz, Uetersen and St. John's, Schleswig), which became Protestant collegiate foundations for noblewomen, and still survive today.
