CNBC
CNBC (formerly Consumer News and Business Channel) is an American basic cable business news channel. It provides business news programming on weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Eastern Time, while broadcasting talk shows, investigative reports, documentaries, infomercials, reality shows, and other programs at all other times. Along with Fox Business and Bloomberg Television, it is one of the three major business news channels. It also operates a website and mobile apps, whereby users can watch the channel via streaming media, and which provide some content that is only accessible to paid subscribers. CNBC content is available on demand on smart speakers including Amazon Echo devices with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and app devices with Google Assistant, and on Apple Siri voice interfaces including iPhones. Seema Mody (born May 14, 1985) is a reporter and anchor for CNBC. Mody joined CNBC in July 2011 after previously being one at CNBC-TV18 in Mumbai, India. While airing on CNBC-TV18, Mody co-anchored two programs, ''Power Breakfast'' and ''After the Bell'', as well as co-producing and anchoring other special features. Steve Liesman (born May 21, 1963) is an American journalist, senior economics reporter for the cable financial television channel CNBC. He is known for appearing on the CNBC programs ''Squawk Box'' and other business related topics on CNBC and NBC and using a paper "easel" while explaining the state of the United States economy. Liesman won an Emmy Award for his coverage of the U.S. financial crisis. He shared the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1999, recognizing ''Wall Street Journal'' coverage of the Russian financial crisis. Liesman wrote the first story in the series, "Missteps by Moscow, New Asian Turmoil Set Off Russian Crisis" (June 5, 1998), and contributed to at least one other; the prize was presented to Andrew Higgins and Liesman.
