List Of CCHA Scholar-Athlete Of The Year
The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year was an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season to the best scholar in the conference as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team. Faculty representatives select the player, who must have at least a 3.25 GPA through the end of the fall semester, who will be named as the scholar-athlete for each team in the CCHA with each nominee being eligible for the conference award. Central Collegiate Hockey Association
The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) is a college athletic conference that participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The current CCHA began play in the 2021–22 season; a previous incarnation, which the current CCHA recognizes as part of its history, existed from 1971 to 2013. Half of its members are located in the state of Michigan, with additional members in Minnesota and Ohio. It has also had teams located in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Nebraska over the course of its existence. The CCHA was disbanded after the 2012–13 season as the result of a conference realignment stemming from the Big Ten Conference (of which three CCHA schools; Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, were primary members) choosing to sponsor Division I ice hockey beginning in the 2013–14 season. Miami RedHawks Men's Ice Hockey
The Miami RedHawks men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. The RedHawks are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), starting play in the conference's 2013–14 inaugural season. Prior to the NCHC, from 1980 to 2013, the RedHawks were a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) until the original CCHA disbanded in 2013. They play in Steve "Coach" Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center. Carter Camper
Carter James Camper (born July 6, 1988) is an American professional ice hockey forward currently playing for EV Zug of the National League (NL). In 2010, after four seasons in the NCAA, Camper signed with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Since turning professional, he has played most of his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL). In February 2014, Camper was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in July 2014, Camper joined the NHL Ottawa Senators organization as a free agent. In July 2015, he signed as a free agent with the Washington Capitals. Alaska Nanooks Men's Ice Hockey
The Alaska Nanooks men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The Nanooks are an Independent. They play at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. History Early history (1925–1973) Varsity hockey at Alaska-Fairbanks began in 1925. The team played four games during the inaugural 1925–26 season and finished the season with a 3–1–0 record despite having no coach. The program returned in 1932 and for three additional seasons the team operated without a coach as an independent collegiate program. Alfred Bastress joined the Nanooks in 1937 and became the program's first head coach. Bastress led the Nanooks for four seasons. The centre (or center in the United States) in ice hockey is a forward (hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Dion Knelsen
Dion Knelsen (born January 4, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing with EHC Olten of the Swiss League (SL). Career Knelsen attended the University of Alaska-Fairbanks from 2006 to 2010 and turned pro in March 2010, when signing with the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League (AHL), who sent him to their ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces. After logging his first minutes as a professional ice hockey player in the ECHL, Knelsen opted to head to Norway for the 2010-11 season, landing a job with the Sparta Warriors. Jordan Pearce
Jordan Paul Pearce (born October 10, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. Playing career Pearce began his hockey career with the U.S. National Team Developmental Program and the Lincoln Stars of the USHL. While playing with the Lincoln Stars in 2004–05, Pearce finished with a record of 22–10–4 with 3.07 goals against average and a .897 save percentage which helped the Stars achieve a second-place tie in the USHL's Western Division. After graduating from South Anchorage High School, he attended the University of Notre Dame and played for their men's ice hockey team in the CCHA for the following four years. Michigan State Spartans Men's Ice Hockey
The Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents Michigan State University (MSU). The team plays at the Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Michigan, on the MSU campus. The current head coach is Adam Nightingale, who took over coaching duties on May 3, 2022, after Danton Cole was fired. Michigan State currently competes in the Big Ten Conference. The MSU ice hockey program has seven CCHA regular season championships and 11 CCHA Tournament titles. MSU has also won 12 Great Lakes Invitational titles.
