Spiridon Sobol
Spiridon Sobol ( Belarusian: Спірыдо́н Міро́навіч Со́баль, Russian: Спиридо́н Миро́нович Со́боль) (1580—1590, Mogilev − 1645, Muntenia) was a Belarusian printer and educator. Sobol was the first East Slavic printer to use copper etching (for the title page of Octoechos, 1628). His name is associated with the printing house in Kuciejna, near Orsha, which he founded in 1630. Biography Spiridon Sobol was born in the city of Mogilyov (now Belarus). He knew Greek and Latin languages and taught in a brotherhood school in Kiev. Sobol printed books in Mogilyov, Kiev (where he was supported by metropolitan Job Boretsky), Kutejno, Bujnichi, and in present day Romania. He published more than 20 editions, including an early «bukvar» (alphabet book). Late in life he became a monk in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Andrei Zygmantovich
Andrei Vikentyevich Zygmantovich or Andrey Zyhmantovich (, russian: link=, Андрей Викентьевич Зыгмантович; born 2 December 1962) is a Belarusian football coach and a former player. He is currently the head coach of Belarus U19. Mainly a defensive midfielder with good positioning and skills, he played for nearly a decade with Dinamo Minsk, also having abroad stints in the Netherlands (only one year) and Spain; in the early 2000s, he embarked on a coaching career. Zygmantovich represented the Soviet Union at the 1990 World Cup and later played for Belarus. Club career Born in Minsk, Soviet Union, Zygmantovich started playing for FC Dinamo Minsk. Yegor Alexandrovich Sharangovich ( be, Ягор Аляксандравіч Шаранговіч, Jahor Alaksandravič Šaranhovič, russian: Егор Александрович Шарангович; born 6 June 1998) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils, 141st overall, in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut in 2020. Theodor Narbut
Teodor Narbutt ( lt, Teodoras Narbutas; 8 November 1784 – 27 November 1864) was a Polish–Lithuanian romantic historian and military engineer in service of the Russian Empire. He is best remembered as the author of a nine-volume Polish-language history of Lithuania from the early Middle Ages to the Union of Lublin. Life Teodor Narbutt was born in 1784 in the village of Szawry (present-day Voranava District of Belarus) in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, to a notable szlachta family of Trąby coat of arms. Early in his youth his fatherland was partitioned between Russia, Austria and Prussia. After graduating from a Piarist college at Lyubeshiv, Narbutt entered the Vilna Academy, where in 1803 he graduated in engineering. He then moved to Saint Petersburg, where he joined the Cadet Corps. Biography He was born in the village Turets in Karelichy Raion, Hrodna Voblast, Belarus. He was a son of village school teachers, but his father, Ivan Michaiłavič Fiodaraŭ, later became a famous Belarusian writer.
