This is a list of player movements for Super Rugby teams prior to the end of the 2021 Super Rugby season. Departure and arrivals of all players that were included in a Super Rugby squad for 2020 or 2021 are listed here, regardless of when it occurred. Future-dated transfers are only included if confirmed by the player or his agent, his former team or his new team. In addition to the main squad, teams can also name additional players that train in backup or development squads for the franchises. These players are denoted by ''(wider training group)'' for New Zealand teams, or ''(development squad)'' for Australian teams. ;Notes: * 2020 players listed are all players that were named in the initial senior squad, or subsequently included in a 23-man match day squad at any game during the season. * ''(did not play)'' denotes that a player did not play at all during one of the two seasons due to injury or non-selection. Super Rugby
Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It previously included teams from Argentina, Japan, and South Africa. Building on various Southern Hemisphere competitions dating back to the South Pacific Championship in 1986, with teams from a number of southern nations, the Super Rugby started as the Super 12 in the 1996 season with 12 teams from 3 countries: Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The Super 12 was established by SANZAR after the sport became professional in 1995. At its peak the tournament featured the top players from nations representing 16 of the 24 top-three finishes in the history of the Rugby World Cup. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the competition to split into three, the reformed competition in 2021 and beyond will only include Oceanian clubs representing Australia, New Zealand and from the Pacific islands (specifically a Fijian team, and a New Zealand ... Julián Montoya
Julián Montoya (born 29 October 1993) is an Argentine rugby union player currently playing for the Leicester Tigers in England's Premiership Rugby, the top domestic level of rugby union. He plays as a hooker. Montoya played for Club Newman domestically in Argentina and Pampas XV. He played for the in SANZAAR's Super Rugby, from 2016 to 2020. He has been an international since 2014. He was Premiership Rugby champion in 2022 with Leicester. Career Montoya played for Argentina national under-20 rugby union team at the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship. He later would also play for Argentina Jaguars. He had his first cap for Argentina at the 65–9 win over Uruguay, at 17 May 2014, for the South American Rugby Championship, in Paysandu, Brazil. He played for the Argentina squad that won the competition in 2014 and 2015, twice in each of them, with a try scored on both occasions. Javier Ortega Desio
Javier Ortega Desio (born 14 June 1990) is an Argentine rugby union player who plays as a loose forward for the Argentine Super Rugby side , and the Argentina national rugby union team. Career Ortega Desio started out his professional career playing for the San Isidro Club in the Torneo de la URBA. He spent 4 years there and racked up almost 50 appearances before switching to join Estudiantes de Paraná in his home town in 2014. Ortega Desio is signed to play for Jaguares until 2017. International career Ortega Desio was a member of the Argentina Under-20 sides which competed in the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship and later went on to play for Argentina's representative teams, the Jaguars and the Pampas XV. He was a member of the Pampas XV squad for the 2013 Vodacom Cup in South Africa and he also went on their tour of Australia in 2014.
