A windmill is a structure that converts wind power into rotational energy using vanes called windmill sail, sails or blades, specifically to mill (grinding), mill grain (gristmills), but the term is also extended to windpumps, wind turbines, and other applications, in some parts of the English speaking world. Gudhjem Mølle - Bornholm

Kuremøllen is a wooden smock mill located west of Svaneke on the Danish island of Bornholm. Built in 1861, it remained in service until 1960."Kuremøllen" , Bornholms Museum. Description Christian Sommer, the current owner's grandfather, built the windmill in 1861 for himself after having constructed nearby Svanemøllen for a group of Svaneke citizens a few years earlier. Bechs Mølle (Bech's Windmill) is a post mill located in Svaneke on the Danish island of Bornholm. Built in 1629, it is the oldest standing windmill in Denmark. In recent years, extensive restoration work has been carried out, preserving as far as possible the old structure and machinery. History Built in 1629, the post mill on Svaneke's Møllebakken is the oldest standing windmill in Denmark. In the 17th century, it was one of three mills on the northern fringe on Svaneke. David Wolfsen had the mill built and was the first owner. In 1737, a rich inhabitant of Svaneke, Jochum Thiesen, bought the mill, inscribing his and his wife's names on the main beam. After it had changed hands several times, Anders Hansen Kofoed from Nexø bought it in 1793 and in 1814 passed it on to his daughter and his son-in-law Hans Bentzen Bech, from whom the mill takes its name. Svaneke
Svaneke (''Swencke'' in 1410, from old Danish ''swan'' swan and ''*wīka'' inlet) is a small town on the eastern coast of the Baltic island of Bornholm, Denmark. It lies mainly in Svaneke parish and partly in Ibsker parish. Pedersker Kirkemølle
Pedersker Kirkemølle is a Dutch windmill located in the little village of Pedersker on the Danish island of Bornholm. It functioned until 1969. Description The Kirkemølle is the island's oldest standing stone mill. It dates from 1861 when it replaced a 150-year-old post mill on the same site. The cylindrical tower mill measured to the cap. Built of sandstone masony, it had a wooden cap and four floors. Originally it had common cloth sails but in 1899 they were replaced with self-regulating patent sails. Until 1908, the mill was rotated manually but after being heightened a further , it was equipped with a fantail. In 1932, a 34 hp Ruston & Hornsby diesel engine was installed. Pedersker
Pedersker is a little village in the southeast of the Danish island of Bornholm, southeast of Aakirkeby and southwest of Nexø. As of 2023, it has 230 inhabitants. Description Pedersker is a quiet Danish village surrounded by farmed fields. To the north, beyond the former railway, the Lynggårdsskoven woods are managed by the State. The populated area is mainly in a triangular section between the main road and the railway, some 64% of the houses dating to before 1950. To the south of the village, the little fishing village of Bakkerne Havn has become an important summer house development. There is a private school in the village and the old dairy is considered to be of importance to the local heritage. Nexø
Nexø, sometimes spelled Neksø ( sv, Nexö), is a town on the east coast of the Baltic island of Bornholm, Denmark. With a population of 3,668 (as of 1 January 2022), it is the second largest town, as well as the largest fishing port on the island. Fishing was previously the mainstay of the town's economy. Nexø is also the site of a distillery (Bornholmske Spiritfabrik ApS) and a mustard factory (Bornholmersennep ApS). The town is also a port of call for the passenger ferries linking Bornholm with Kołobrzeg in Poland. Dueodde, the largest beach on Bornholm, is located south of Nexø, in the southeastern corner of the island.
