A windmill is a structure that converts wind power into rotational energy using vanes called windmill sail, sails or blades, specifically to mill (grinding), mill grain (gristmills), but the term is also extended to windpumps, wind turbines, and other applications, in some parts of the English speaking world. Geesteren ( Tweants: ) is a village in the eastern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Tubbergen, Overijssel about 9 km northeast of Almelo. It was first mentioned in 1268 as Geysteren. The etymology is unclear. Around 1800, it developed into a village around the Catholic church. In 1840, Geesteren together with Harbrinkhoek and Langeveen were home to 1,329 people. The Roman Catholic church, St. Pancratius, is named after Pancras of Rome, and dates from 1926. Fleringen (Tweants: ) is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Tubbergen, and lies about 10 km east of Almelo. It was first mentioned in 1227 as van Vlederingen. The etymology is unknown. The ''havezate A manor house was historically the main residence of the lord of the manor. Deventer
Deventer (; Sallands: ) is a city and municipality in the Salland historical region of the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. In 2020, Deventer had a population of 100,913. The city is largely situated on the east bank of the river IJssel, but it also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (with a population of about 5,000 people) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country.
