This is a list of WBC Muaythai world champions, showing every world champion certificated by the World Boxing Council Muaythai (WBC Muaythai). The WBC, which is one of the four major governing bodies in professional boxing, started certifying their own Muay Thai world champions in 19 different weight classes in 2005. Professional Boxing
Professional boxing, or prizefighting, is regulated, sanctioned boxing. Professional boxing bouts are fought for a purse bid, purse that is divided between the boxers as determined by contract. Most professional bouts are supervised by a regulatory authority to guarantee the fighters' safety. Most high-profile bouts obtain the endorsement of a sanctioning body, which awards championship belts, establishes rules, and assigns its own judges and referees. In contrast with amateur boxing, professional bouts are typically much longer and can last up to twelve rounds, though less significant fights can be as short as four rounds. Protective headgear is not permitted, and boxers are generally allowed to take substantial punishment before a fight is halted. Shane Del Rosario
Shane Kalani del Rosario (September 23, 1983 – December 9, 2013) was an American professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer. He competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's Heavyweight division, Strikeforce, M-1 Global, ShoXC, and King of the Cage. He held the distinction of being the first American to become the WBC Muay Thai World Heavyweight Champion. Early life Del Rosario was born and raised in Orange County, California, and was half-Filipino American. He started training as a fighter at the age of 17 with Marco Ruas. Del Rosario then attended and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in psychology out of UC Irvine. Christian Bosch
Christian Boesch (born 27 July 1941) is an Austrian operatic baritone. He is the son of the soprano Ruthilde Boesch, and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, from 1959 to 1964. He was the pupil of Alfred Jerger, and made his official debut at the Stadttheater, Bern, in 1966. He joined the Vienna Volksoper in 1975. It was in 1978 when Boesch came to prominence, as Papageno in ''Die Zauberflöte'', at the Salzburg Festival, in Jean-Pierre Ponnelle's production, conducted by James Levine. Fabiano "Cyclone" Goncalves Aoki ( ja, ファビアーノ 青木; born on 21 November 1978) is a Brazilian former heavyweight kickboxer, fighting out of TARGET team in Japan. He was J-Network tournament champion, RISE, WPMF, HEAT and WBC Muaythai champion, competed in the K-1 and is currently signed to GLORY.
