The University of Denver (DU) is a private university, private research university in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 1864, it is the oldest independent private university in the Mountain States, Rocky Mountain Region of the United States. It is Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – very high research activity". DU enrolls approximately 5,700 undergraduate students and 7,200 graduate students. Frances McConnell-Mills
Frances Mary McConnell-Mills (July 9, 1900 – December 28, 1975) was an American toxicologist. She was the first woman to be appointed Denver's city toxicologist, the first female toxicologist in the Rocky Mountains, and probably the first female forensic pathologist in the United States. McConnell was raised in Colorado and after studying chemistry she became a high school teacher. She later attended medical school at the University of Colorado Denver, graduating in 1925. She specialized in the fields of toxicology and forensic pathology, which led her to testify in many high-profile criminal cases throughout her career. In addition to working as Denver's city toxicologist, she held positions in multiple hospitals and administrative boards. After battling lifelong health problems, including rheumatic heart disease and a leg amputation, McConnell died in 1975. She was posthumously inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Assaf ( ar, إبراهيم بن عبد العزيز بن عبد الله العساف; born 28 January 1949) is a Saudi politician who served as finance minister, foreign minister, and state minister of Saudi Arabia. Early life and education Ibrahim was born in the Qassim Province in central Saudi Arabia on 28 January 1949. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economic and political science from King Saud University, Riyadh, in 1971. He later obtained a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Denver in 1976 and a PhD in economics from Colorado State University in 1982. Frank Aguon
Frank Blas Aguon Jr. (born June 21, 1966) is a Guamanian politician and army lieutenant. A Democrat, he served in the Legislature of Guam from 1997 to 2007, 2009 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2019. He is a former Vice-Speaker from 2003 to 2005. Senator Aguon won re-election by his 1st place with more votes in 2014 and 2016, than his 2nd-place run in 2012. Aguon has also run as a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Guam in the 2006 and 2010 gubernatorial elections and was the running mate of former Guam Governor Carl Gutierrez in the 2010 election. Cleo Spurlock Wallace
Cleo Spurlock Wallace (July 29, 1914 - August 26, 1985) was an American speech therapist born in Garo, Colorado. In 1933, Spurlock was one of the first six recipients of four-year scholarships to the University of Denver; she graduated in 1937. That same year, she married investment broker Thomas Wallace. She subsequently earned a Rockefeller Foundation Teaching Fellowship to the University of Denver, where she received a master's degree in speech pathology in 1943. Wallace then began teaching high school, where she received her first referral from a local physician. Anne Roe
Anne Roe (1904 – May 29, 1991) was an American clinical psychologist and researcher who studied creativity and occupational psychology. Her publications included ''The Making of a Scientist'' (1953) and the ''Psychology of Occupations'' (1956). Biography Born in Denver, Colorado, her parents were Charles Edwin Roe and Edna Blake. There were three siblings. Roe received her Bachelor's (1923) and Master's (1925) degrees from the University of Denver. She received her Ph.D. at Columbia University (1933). Five years later, she married the paleontologist George Gaylord Simpson. She became stepmother to his four daughters. Roe served as a research associate and professor at Harvard's Graduate School of Education before founding and directing the school's Center for Research on Careers.
