This list of theatrical animated feature films consists of animated films released by Universal Pictures, the film division of Comcast's NBCUniversal. Universal Pictures releases films from Universal-owned and non-Universal owned animation studios. Most films listed below are from Illumination which began as the feature animation department of Universal, producing its first feature-length animated film '' Despicable Me'' in 2010. Beginning with '' How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World'' in 2019, Universal also released animated films by DreamWorks Animation, which was acquired by NBCUniversal in 2016. Pinocchio In Outer Space
''Pinocchio in Outer Space'' is a 1965 Belgian-American animated science-fantasy film which sets Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio character on a rocketship adventure. Peter Lazer performs the voice of Pinocchio. It was produced by Ray Goossens at Belvision Studios, with American involvement from Norm Prescott (Filmation) and Fred Ladd. The film was released in the US by Universal Pictures. The French version was titled ''Pinocchio dans l'espace'' and the Dutch version was known as ''Pinocchio in de ruimte''. The Talking Cricket character was not present in this production. Instead, Pinocchio's sidekick was Nurtle, an alien Twertle (voiced by Arnold Stang), sent by his government to investigate an unusual increase of radiation on Mars. Jay Ward Productions, Inc. (sometimes shortened to Ward Productions) is an American animation studio based in Costa Mesa, California. It was founded in 1948 by American animator Jay Ward. Harvey Films (also known as Harvey Entertainment, The Harvey Entertainment Company or simply Harvey) is the production arm of comic book publisher Harvey Comics. ''Casper'' is a 1995 American fantasy film directed by Brad Silberling, in his feature film directorial debut, based on the Harvey Comics cartoon character Casper the Friendly Ghost created by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo.
