Originally formed in 2008 as a joint venture between Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Weigel Broadcasting, the network maintains a large programming emphasis on films (those primarily sourced from the library of partial owner MGM), but also airs other limited general entertainment content in the form of classic television series and children's programming. Globe ( apw, Bésh Baa Gowąh "Place of Metal") is a city in Gila County, Arizona, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 7,249. The city is the county seat of Gila County. Globe was founded c. 1875 as a mining camp. Mining, tourism, government and retirees are most important in the present-day Globe economy. The Globe Downtown Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Geography Globe is in southern Gila County at (33.399858, −110.781570), in the valley of Pinal Creek, a north-flowing tributary of the Salt River. KRET-CD, virtual channel 45 ( UHF digital channel 31), is a low-powered, Class A Heroes & Icons- affiliated television station licensed to Cathedral City, California, United States. Founded January 24, 1996, the station is owned by Charles R. Meeker. History The FCC granted an original construction permit to Charles R. Meeker on January 24, 1996, to build a low-power television station on UHF channel 45 to serve Cathedral City and Palm Springs, California. It was given the callsign K45ET and began broadcasting in late 1997 as an independent station. Its nickname was "Sun-TV" to represent the desert locale of the Coachella Valley. The station was licensed January 8, 1998, and took the call letters KPSP-LP one month later. In February 1999, Meeker-owned Palm Springs stations KPSP-LP and KDPX-LP switched call letters and programming (see next section), and channel 45 became Pax affiliate KDPX-LP. Cathedral City, colloquially known as "Cat City", is a desert resort city in Riverside County, California, United States, within the Colorado Desert's Coachella Valley. Situated between Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage, the city has the second largest population, after Indio, of the nine cities in the Coachella Valley. Its population was 51,493 at the 2020 census, a slight increase from 51,200 at the 2010 census. KNXT-LD (channel 53) is a low-power television station in Bakersfield, California, United States, affiliated with MyNetworkTV. The station is owned by My Central Valley, LLC. KNXT-LD's transmitter is located on Mount Adelaide. History The station was started as K57HZ, transmitting on channel 57, on April 28, 2000, by Cocola Broadcasting. Cocola sold the station to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno, which owned regional Catholic station KNXT (channel 49), in 2007 for $1.4 million. It then moved to channel 38 and became a translator of KNXT, which also appeared on Bakersfield cable systems. In 2020, the diocese shut down KNXT owing to high costs. In the case of the Bakersfield translator, a digital television conversion also needed to be conducted. Mountain Home, Arkansas
Mountain Home is a city in, and the county seat of, Baxter County, Arkansas, United States, in the southern Ozark Mountains near the northern state border with Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 12,448. A total of 41,307 persons lived within the city and micropolitan area combined, which encompasses the majority of Baxter County. History Founding and early days Mountain Home was originally known as Rapp's Barren. The land was owned by Simeon "Rapp" Talburt, who built the first home in the area in the early 1830s. Harrison is a city and the county seat of Boone County, Arkansas, United States. It is named after General Marcus LaRue Harrison, a surveyor who laid out the city along Crooked Creek at Stifler Springs. The Family Channel is an American general entertainment television network owned by Get After It Media (formerly Luken Communications and Reach High Media Group), and based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. History In September 2008, ValCom announced that they would purchase the assets of Faith TV, relaunching it as a more broadly-distributed family television network. On December 15, 2008, ValCom deal to purchase Faith TV closed and they relaunched Faith TV as My Family TV.
