Lakorn
Lakorn is a popular genre of fiction in Thai television. They are known in Thai as (, lit. "television drama") or (''lakhon'', , or ''lakorn''). They are shown generally at prime-time on Thai television channels, starting usually on, before or approximately at 20:25-20:30 hrs local time. An episode of a prime-time drama is between 45 minutes to two hours long including commercials. Each series is a finished story, unlike Western "cliffhanger" dramas, but rather like Hispanic telenovelas. The first television drama in Thailand is ''Suriyani Mai Yom Taengngan'' (สุริยานีไม่ยอมแต่งงาน, lit. Krasue (lakhon)
The ''Krasue'' ( th, กระสือ, ) is a nocturnal female spirit of Southeast Asian folklore. It manifests as the floating, disembodied head of a woman, usually young and beautiful, with her internal organs still attached and trailing down from the neck. The ''Krasue'' belongs to a constellation of similar mythological entities across different regions of Southeast Asia; these regional variations all share in common that they are characterized by a disembodied woman's head with organs and entrails hanging from its neck. He also produces TV show and Thai films such as ''Saranae Show'', ''Saranae Siblor'' and ''Saranae hen phi''. Suvanant Kongying ( th, สุวนันท์ คงยิ่ง; ; born 22 July 1978 in Bangkok) also known by her nickname Kob ( th, กบ; ), is a Thai actress. She was the lead actress in many Thai lakorns in the 1990s-2000s. She has appeared in several ''lakorns'' (dramas), including ''Dao pra sook'' with Sornram Teppitak, in which she played Dao, the main character. She has been voted people's choice winner for top actress for many years. She's considered Thailand's most famous actress and her leading lakorn partner is Sornram Teppitak.
