Many of the world records in swimming were established by swimmers wearing bodysuits or suits made of polyurethane or other non-textile materials allowed in the race pool from February 2008 until December 2009. These suits seemed to improve the performance for top athletes, especially those with larger physiques. Blake John Pieroni (born November 15, 1995) is a three-time Olympic gold medalist in swimming. He is a two time Olympian and gold medalist in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay at both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Olympics. On the relay in 2016, he swam in the prelims of the race, on the 2020 Olympics 4×100-meter freestyle relay he swam in both the prelims and the final. He also won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2020 Olympic Games, swimming the freestyle leg of the relay in the prelims. Background Pieroni was born in Crown Point, Indiana, and raised in Chesterton where he graduated from Chesterton High School in 2014. He graduated from Indiana University. 2021 Australian Swimming Trials
The 2021 Australian Swimming Trials was a sports event that was held from 12 to 17 June 2021 at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre to determine Australia's swimming team to the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Paralympics. Olympic Qualification criteria Australia can select a maximum of 56 swimmers (26 of each sex, with up to 18 for relay only swimmers) for the Olympic team. To qualify, a swimmer must reach the allotted Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT) and finish in the top 2 positions in the "A" final. Following the end of the qualification period, FINA will assess the number of athletes having achieved the OQT, the number of relay-only swimmers, and the number of Universality places, before inviting athletes with OST to fulfil the total quota of 878. Matthew Richards (born 17 December 2002) is a British swimmer. Richards swam the third leg of the gold-medal winning Great Britain 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the first British team to win the event since 1908. Previously, he had won two silver medals in team freestyle relays at the European Championships. Early life Matt Richards was born in Droitwich, Worcester, England, to Amanda and Simon Richards. James George Guy (born 26 November 1995) is an English competitive swimmer who specialises in freestyle and butterfly. Guy has won gold medals representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games, the World and European Championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games.
