The Defected
''The Defected'' (; lit. ''Iron Detective'') is a 2019 Hong Kong television drama produced and directed by So Man-Chung, with Carmen So serving as co-director. It is a co-production between the Hong Kong broadcasting company TVB and China's Tencent Penguin Pictures, a television production unit launched by Tencent. It stars Benjamin Yuen as Inspector Sheung Sing, a policeman who becomes embroiled in a conspiracy plaguing the high-ranking officials due to an incident that almost cost him his life. The drama premiered on TVB Jade in Hong Kong, Macau and on Astro On Demand in Malaysia on April 1, 2019, and aired its final episode on May 10, 2019. In Mainland China, the first five episodes were released on Tencent Video on April 1, and the next five episodes were made available for VIP members. Andrew Chan (actor)
Andrew Chan (; 12 January 1984 – 29 April 2015) was an Australian man who was convicted and executed in Indonesia for drug trafficking as a member of the Bali Nine. In 2005, Chan was arrested at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar. According to court testimonies of convicted drug mules, Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were the co-ringleaders of the heroin smuggling operation from Indonesia to Australia. After a criminal trial on 14 February 2006, Chan was sentenced to execution by firing squad by the Denpasar District Court. After lodging an appeal against Chan's sentence, his appeal was dismissed by the Indonesian Supreme Court on 10 May 2011. Koni Lui Wai Yee (; born 3 September 1982 in Hong Kong) is a model and 2nd runner up at the Miss Hong Kong 2006 pageant. She represented Hong Kong at Miss International 2006 in Tokyo, Japan and Beijing, China. She received two awards, Most Beautiful Smile and the Miss Friendship award.
