The Swiss Records in swimming are the fastest times ever swum by an individual from Switzerland. These records are maintained by Switzerland's national swimming federation: Schweizerischer Schwimmverband. Swimming (sport)
Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay. A medley relay consists of four swimmers who will each swim a different stroke, ordered as backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Swimming each stroke requires a set of specific techniques; in competition, there are distinct regulations concerning the acceptable form for each individual stroke. The women's 100 metre butterfly event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held from 24 to 26 July 2021 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. It will be the event's seventeenth consecutive appearance, having been held at every edition since 1956. Records Prior to this competition, the existing world and Olympic records were as follows. No new records were set during the competition. Qualification The Olympic Qualifying Time for the event is 57.92 seconds. Up to two swimmers per National Olympic Committee (NOC) can automatically qualify by swimming that time at an approved qualification event. The Olympic Selection Time is 59.66 seconds. Up to one swimmer per NOC meeting that time is eligible for selection, allocated by world ranking until the maximum quota for all swimming events is reached. Jérémy Desplanches (born 7 August 1994) is a Swiss breaststroke and medley swimmer. He competed at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and was finalist at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. He won the men's 200m Individual Medley final at the Glasgow 2018 European Swimming Championships in Glasgow and got silver in men's 200m individual medley at the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju. He's the second male swimmer from Switzerland to claim a medal at the FINA World Championships, after Dano Halsall in the men's 50m freestyle in 1986. He represented Switzerland at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal in the men's 200m individual medley. Yannick Käser
Yannick Käser (born 3 July 1992 in Rheinfelden, Aargau) is a Swiss swimmer, who specializes in breaststroke events. He is a 7-time Swiss swimming champion, a multiple-time age-group record holder, and a member of the swimming team for Virginia Cavaliers. He is also currently training with Limmat Sharks in Zurich under his coach Dirk Reinicke. He used to train with coach Dieter Sofka up to 2011. Kaeser made his international debut at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore, where he placed sixth in the 200 m breaststroke with his personal best of 2:17.78. In 2011, he cleared the 2:10 barrier to set a short-course Swiss record of 2:09.99 in the same stroke at the European Championships in Szczecin, Poland. The men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 27 and 28 July 2021 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
