The city is home to Grambling State University and is part of the Ruston Micropolitan Statistical Area. Cocodrie is an unincorporated fishing, shrimping and crabbing village in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, United States, 10 miles south of Chauvin and due south of the city of Houma.
