St Helens R.F.C. is a professional rugby league club in St Helens, Merseyside. Formed in 1873, St Helens are one of the 22 original members of the Northern Rugby Football Union founded in 1895. Since then, more than 1,200 players have appeared for the club's first team. Kel Coslett has made the most career appearances for St Helens, having played 531 games between 1962 and 1976. Coslett is also the club's all-time top goal scorer (1,639) and point scorer (3,413). The try scoring record is held by Tom van Vollenhoven, who touched down 392 times for the club. Joseph Ball (1 April 1927 – 6 October 1964) was an English rugby league footballer who played as a or for St Helens and Barrow. Biography Ball started his career with St Helens in 1943, playing 135 games for moving to Barrow in 1955, He spent six seasons with Barrow, Joe Ball played in Barrow's 7-9 defeat by Leeds in the 1957 Challenge Cup Final during the 1956–57 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 11 May 1957, in front of a crowd of 76,318. Mike Bennett is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played as a forward for St Helens in the Super League. Scott Barrow (rugby)
Scott Barrow (born 28 June 1980 in St. Helens, England) is a former rugby union player and now coach. He played for Glasgow Warriors and Leeds Carnegie at the Centre position. Barrow previously also played rugby league for St.Helens and Great Britain Under 19s. Rugby League Barrow first joined amateur rugby league side Blackbrook A.R.L.F.C. and then in 1997 he joined professional side St. Helens. He captained the Great Britain Under 19 side.
