Adivi Baapiraju
Adivi Baapiraju (1895–1952) was an Indian polymath, who was a novelist in Telugu language, playwright, painter, art director, and anti-colonial nationalist known for his works in Telugu theater, and cinema.Encyclopedia of Indian Literature Sahitya Akademi He is known for his literary works such as Gonaganna Reddy, Narayana Rao, and Himabindu. Life Baapiraju was born on 8 October 1895, at Sarepalle, near Bhimavaram in West Godavari district of Andhra. He visited tourist places around the country like Ajanta, Hampi etc. and that is how his interest in arts and paintings developed. The Cinema of South India refers collectively to the six distinct film industries based in Southern region of India namely Tamil, Telugu, Tulu, Kannada, Konkani, and Malayalam. Although these industries developed independently for a long period of time, gross exchange of artists and technicians, as well as globalisation helped in shaping this unique identity. By 2010, South India became the home for 6320, or about 62% of the 10,167 movie theatres in India. For the financial year of 2013, the combined net box office revenue of Tamil and Telugu films stood at nearly 40% of the total net revenue of Indian films. Tirumakudalu Chowdiah ( kn, ಸಂಗೀತ ರತ್ನ ತಿರುಮಕೂಡಲು ಚೌಡಯ್ಯ) (1895 – 19 January 1967) was a violin maestro from India in the Carnatic music, Carnatic classical tradition. Early years Chowdiah, was born in Tirumakudalu Narsipur village on the banks of the river Kaveri near Mysore in a Vokkaliga family.
