Ramón Orlando Valoy García (born July 29, 1959), is a Dominican musician, singer, arranger, composer, record producer and songwriter, besides being a gran maestro pianist in Caribbean rhythms. Ramón Orlando received seven Casandra awards in the 1992 ceremony, including the ''Soberano'', which is the most important category in the Dominican awards ceremony. In 2005, he was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award in the Best Merengue Album category. Career Ramón Orlando Valoy was born on July 29, 1959, in Manoguayabo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is the son of Cuco Valoy. Ramón Orlando started his music career at age 14, as a singer, piano player, arranger, composer and songwriter in his father's merengue band called ''La Tribu.'' Los Hermanos Rosario (''The Rosario Brothers'' in English) is a merengue band, originally consisting of brothers Toño Rosario, Pepe, Rafa, Tony and Luis. History Los Hermanos Rosario is an emblematic merengue music band from the Dominican Republic. The orchestra was founded on 1 May 1978, Labor Day in Salvaleón de Higuey, a town on the edge of the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. At that time, the 7 brothers debuted with the municipal authorities in a ceremony in their native town. Shortly thereafter, Los Hermanos Rosario began a quest in search of artistic success. They developed their activities initially in their native town and in some cities in the east of the country. Raulín Rosendo (born August 30, 1957) is a Dominican salsa singer. Career Steeped in the rhythms of Afro-Antilles music throughout his childhood, he began his performing career at the age of 12 as a member of the merengue group ''El Chivo y Su Banda'', later appearing with acts including Fernando Villalona, ''Conjunto Clásico'' and ''Los Vecinos''. Known as “The Angry Sonero”, Rosendo made his solo debut with 1991's ''Salsa, Solamente Salsa''; by 1993 he was recording in New York City with producer Ricky Gonzalez, scoring the hits ''Amor en Secreto'' & ''Santo Domingo''. José Alberto Justiniano (born December 22, 1958, in Villa Consuelo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), better known by his stage name José Alberto "El Canario", is a salsa singer from the Dominican Republic. José Alberto moved to Puerto Rico with his family at the age of seven, and inspired by his rich Dominican culture went on to polish his singing at Las Antillas Military Academy. Yoskar "El Prabu" Sarante (2 January 1970 – 28 January 2019) was a prominent Dominican bachata singer. Early life Yoskar Sarante, born in 1970, was one of the most prolific singers of new bachata of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Born to Domingo and Ramona Sarante Ventura, he was the second son of the family, but he was the first to be linked to art. According to Yoskar Sarante, the young artist said that as a child he would walk with his father in parks and public squares singing while his father accompanied him on guitar, and that it was their main source of income. Sergio Pascual Vargas Parra (Villa Altagracia, Dominican Republic, March 15, 1960) is a performer of merengue and bolero, who was very popular in the 80s and 90s, during the "Golden Age of Merengue" and today remains active as one of the leading figures in Dominican merengue. His brothers, Kaki and Johnny, are also performers of the genre and have been by his side for much of their respective musical careers.
