United States, American recording artist Mya Harrison has recorded material for her six studio albums and collaborated with other artists for duets and featured songs on their respective albums and charity singles. After signing a record contract with Interscope Records at the age of 16, Harrison began to work with producer Darryl "Day" Pearson, who co-wrote and co-produced seven out of the 13 songs on her Mýa (album), eponymous debut album (1998). Additional contribution came from Nokio the N-Tity and Daryl Simmons, the latter of which produced the album's third single "My First Night with You", a cover version of Deborah Cox's 1995 recording, written by Award-winning musicians Babyface (musician), Babyface and Diane Warren. Mya Marie Harrison (; born October 10, 1979), (stylized as Mýa), is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Born into a musical family, she studied ballet, Jazz dance, jazz, and tap dance as a child. Initially, Mýa began her career as a VJ (media personality), VJ and dance posse member on Black Entertainment Television, BET's ''Teen Summit''. During her stint at BET, she developed an interest in music which lead to independent deal from the guidance of CEO Haqq Islam. ''Moodring'' is the third studio album by American singer Mýa, released on June 26, 2003, by A&M and Interscope Records. Before Mýa began to work on what would eventually be her third studio album, she participated in prior engagements which would result in the blockbuster success of 2001's "Lady Marmalade", a collaboration for the ''Moulin Rouge!'' soundtrack, and a supporting role in the 2002 film ''Chicago''. Production on ''Moodring'' was handled by a bevy of producers and songwriters. "Case of the Ex" (sometimes subtitled "Whatcha Gonna Do") is a song by American singer Mýa. It was written and composed by Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and his songwriting partners Traci Hale and Thabiso "Tab" Nkhereanyne for Mýa's second studio album ''Fear of Flying'' (2000).
