Sindhi Music
Music from Sindh (), is sung and is generally performed in either the "Baits" or "Waee" styles. The Baits style is vocal music in Sanhoon (low voice) or Graham (high voice). Waee instrumental music is performed in a variety of ways using a string instrument. Waee, also known as Kafi, is popular in the surrounding areas of Balochistan, Punjab, and Kutch. Sindhi Sufi music Shah Jo Raag The traditional compilations of Shah Jo Risalo by Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai include 30 Suras (chapters) which are sang as raags. The oldest publications of Shah Jo Risalo contained 36 Suras, but later six of the Suras were rejected because the language and content did not correspond to the style of the Shah. Recently, Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, the most famous Sindhi linguist has compiled and published a new publication after 32 years of research, into popular culture and the history of the Sindhi language. Muhammad Juman
Ustad Muhammad Juman ( sd, استاد محمد جمن) (10 October 1935 – 24 January 1990) was a Sindhi musician and classical singer from Pakistan, whose impact on Sindhi music is still pervasive. Early life and career Muhammad Juman was born on 10 October 1935 in the village of Sorra, located in the Lasbela District of Balochistan, to a musician, Haji Ahmed Sakhirani of Sakhirani clan. It was only natural that he became fond of music from his childhood years. Juman took formal music lessons from a venerable Pakistani musician Ustad Nazar Hussain of Pakistan Television (Lahore Center), who had also been a music tutor to the renowned singer Madam Noor Jehan. Zarina Baloch ( sd, زرينه بلوچ) (29 December 1930 – 25 October 2005) was a Pakistani folk music singer, vocalist and composer. She was also an actress, Radio and TV artist, writer, teacher for over 30 years, political activist and social worker. Early life and family She was born on 29 December 1930 in Allahdad Chand Village, Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan her mother, Gulroz Jalalani, died in 1940 when Zarina was six years old. She studied with Mohammad Juman, who was also a Sindhi singer. At early age 15 years, her family arranged her marriage with a remote relative. Sohrab Fakir Manganhar, also known as Sohrab Fakir, ( sd, سُهراب فقير صوفي, 1934 – 23 October 2009) was a Sufi-singer from Sindh, Pakistan. Shazia Khushk ( ur, شازیہ خشک, Sindhi: شازيه خشڪ) (born September 1970 in Jamshoro), is a Pakistani former folk singer. She sung in Sindhi, Balochi, Sairaiki, Urdu, Kashmiri, Brahui and Punjabi. Biography Shazia Khushk was born at Jamshoro. She debuted for a show in 1992, upon her husband's encouragement, about whom Shazia says, "My husband often called me the Queen of Voice". Early life and career

Sanam Marvi's childhood was full of hardships and poverty. Marvi started getting music training at the age of 7. She is from a Sindhi Family. Her father, Faqeer Khan Muhammad, was also a Sindhi folk musician/harmonium player. He gave Marvi initial classical music training for 2 years, and later she learnt classical singing and raags from Ustad Fateh Ali Khan from in the



Saif Samejo
Saif Samejo (born 23 January 1984) is a musician and founder, lead vocalist and songwriter of the Pakistani Sufi folk band The Sketches. In May 2014 he opened the first music Aashram (School) in Hyderabad, Sindh named as "Lahooti Music Aashram". He composed music for Dastan-e '' Momal Rano'' on the show ''Coke Studio''. Rubeena Qureshi
Rubina Qureshi, TI ( sd, روبينہ قريشي; also ''Rubeena''; 19 October 1940 – 13 July 2022) was a Pakistani Sindhi language folk singer. She was popularly known as ''Nightingale of Sindh'' as she performed most of her songs in Sindhi, Urdu, Punjabi and Saraiki languages. Early life Rubina was born on 19 October 1940 in Hyderabad, Sindh, British Raj (now Pakistan). Her maiden name was Aisha Shaikh and her father's name was Illahi Bux Shaikh.
