George Long (footballer)
George Martin Long (born 5 November 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Millwall. Born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, he came through the youth ranks at his hometown Sheffield United before making the break into the first team, and has also represented England at Under 18 level. Long has previously had loan spells at Oxford United, Motherwell and AFC Wimbledon. Club career Long made his début for the Blades at the beginning of May 2011, starting the last game of the 2010–11 season against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, in doing so becoming the youngest goalkeeper to play in a league game for the Blades in the club's history at just 17 years 183 days. The Midland Football League was a semi-professional football league in England. It acted as a feeder league to the Football League for many years before merging with the Yorkshire League in 1982 to form the Northern Counties East League. Bert Menlove
Bertie Menlove (8 December 1892 – 3 July 1970) was an English footballer who played as a forward in the Football League for Crystal Palace and Sheffield United. Born in St Albans, Menlove transferred in 1920 from Barnet & Alston to Aston Villa. He didn't make any league appearances for Villa and moved on to Crystal Palace, then of the Southern League. He scored his only hat–trick for Palace in a Southern League march versus Gillingham in March 1920. The following season Palace joined the newly constituted Third Division and with Menlove scoring five goals that season they topped the league and secured promotion to the Second division. Notable that season was an FA Cup win over then First Division Manchester City, a game in which Menlove scored. Gregory Halford (born 8 December 1984) is an English semi-professional and former professional footballer who plays for Isthmian League North Division club Hashtag United. He is naturally a right-back or centre-back but can play in numerous positions including central midfield, right midfield and even as a striker.
