Scientific Journal
In academic publishing, a scientific journal is a periodical publication intended to further the progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Content Articles in scientific journals are mostly written by active scientists such as students, researchers, and professors instead of professional journalists. There are thousands of scientific journals in publication, and many more have been published at various points in the past (see list of scientific journals). Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals such as '' Nature'' publish articles and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Scientific journals contain articles that have been peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality and scientific validity. Although scientific journals are superficially similar to professional magazines, they are actually quite different. Issues of a scientific journal are rarely rea ...

Annales De Gergonne
The ''Annales de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées'', commonly known as the ''Annales de Gergonne'', was a mathematical journal published in Nimes, France from 1810 to 1831 by Joseph Diez Gergonne. The annals were largely devoted to geometry, with additional articles on history, philosophy, and mathematics education showing interdisciplinarity. "In the ''Annales'', Gergonne established in form and content a set of exceptionally high standards for mathematical journalism. New symbols and new terms to enrich mathematical literature are found here for the first time. The journal, which met with instant approval, became a model for many another editor. Cauchy, Poncelet, Brianchon, Steiner, Plucker, Crelle, Poisson, Ampere, Chasles, and Liouville sent articles for publication." Operational calculus was developed in the journal in 1814 by Francois-Joseph Servois. Francois-Joseph Servois (1814Analise Transcendante. The Analyst, Or, Mathematical Museum
''The Analyst, or, Mathematical Museum'' was an early American mathematics journal. Founded by Robert Adrain in 1808, it published one volume of four issues that year before discontinuing publication. Despite its extremely short life, it published papers by several notable mathematicians in the nascent American mathematical community, including Nathaniel Bowditch and Ferdinand Hassler; most importantly, Adrain himself published an independent formulation of the method of least squares. After securing a professorship at Columbia University Columbia University (also known as Columbia, and officially as Columbia University in the City of New York) is a private research university in New York City. Established in 1754 as King's College on the grounds of Trinity Church in Manhatt ..., Adrain attempted to revive the journal in 1814, but it published only one issue before again ceasing publication. He would later go on to found a more popularly oriented journal, '' The Mathemat ...

Algebraic Combinatorics (journal)
''Algebraic Combinatorics'' is a peer-reviewed diamond open access mathematical journal specializing in the field of algebraic combinatorics. Established in 2018, the journal is published by the Centre Mersenne. History The journal was established in 2018, when the editorial board of the Springer Science+Business Media '' Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics'' resigned to protest the publisher's high prices and limited accessibility. The board criticized Springer for "double-dipping", that is, charging large subscription fees to libraries in addition to high fees for authors who wished to make their publications open access. Operations ''Algebraic Combinatorics'' operates on a diamond open access model, in which publication costs are underwritten by voluntary contributions from universities, foundations, and other organizations. Authors do not pay submission fees or article processing charges. All content is published under a Creative Commons license. The journal's editors-in-chie ...
