North East Lincolnshire
North East Lincolnshire is a Unitary authority area with borough status in Lincolnshire, England. It borders the borough of North Lincolnshire and districts of West Lindsey and East Lindsey. The population of the district in the 2011 Census was 159,616. The administrative centre and largest settlement is Grimsby and the borough includes the towns of Cleethorpes and Immingham as well as the villages of New Waltham, Waltham, Lincolnshire, Waltham, Humberston, Healing, Lincolnshire, Healing and Great Coates. The borough is also home to the Port of Grimsby and Port of Immingham as well as Cleethorpes beach. Cleethorpes Academy
Cleethorpes Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, based in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, England. The school opened in September 2010, on the site previously occupied by the Lindsey School and Community Arts College. Cleethorpes Academy is owned and operated by Tollbar MAT, an educational trust formed in May 2012 as a group of schools in the Lincolnshire LEA. The decision to close the Lindsey School and open Cleethorpes Academy, came after the former was placed in special measures by Ofsted, the Government appointed schools inspectorate. History Grammar school The school originated as an amalgamation of 'Cleethorpes Girls' Grammar School' and North Cleethorpes Secondary Modern School, becoming a comprehensive co-educational school in 1973. Aylesby
Aylesby is a village and civil parish in North East Lincolnshire, England. It is situated near the A18 road, approximately west from Cleethorpes and north of Laceby. The population at the 2001 census was 135, increasing to 155 at the 2011 Census. History The village's name in 1086 was Alesbi, and A.D Mills in ''A Dictionary of British Place Names'', gives its meaning as a 'Farmstead or village of a man called Áli’. Aylesby has three entries in the ''Domesday Book'' and comprised 36 households with a tax assessment of 3.7 geld units. A Post mill in Aylesby was operated by the Cistercians of Meaux Abbey, East Riding of Yorkshire, during the Middle Ages. Around 1300, the Cistercians gave the mill to the Austin Canons of Wellow Abbey, Grimsby. In the east of the village are six Grade II* listed almshouses, built in 1925, in memory of F.W. It comprises a Nursery School, Preparatory School, Senior School and Sixth Form. The school is associated with the Church of England Grimsby Minster, dedicated to James, son of Zebedee, St James. History Formerly known as St James Choir School, the school was founded on the premises of Grimsby's parish church, St James's (now known as Grimsby Minster). Canon James Peter Young, curate and later vicar at the church, was influenced by Nathaniel Woodard's education philosophy and established the school in 1880 to educate the church's choirboys. Ormiston Maritime Academy (formerly known as Hereford Technology School) is a secondary school with academy status in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England. The school has an intake of 1048 pupils, aged 11 to 16. In the last Ofsted report under its former name, Hereford Technology School, the school was found to have a larger proportion of pupils with disabilities or special learning requirements than is found on average nationally. Oasis Academy Wintringham is a secondary school (academy) on Weelsby Avenue in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England. It is just off the A16 Peaks Parkway just south-west of the A46 crossroads next to the Lisle Marsden CE Primary School in Wellow and on the Grimsby- Cleethorpes boundary (the A16).
