This is a list of characters from the 33rd Super Sentai Series ''Samurai Sentai Shinkenger''. The series incorporates heavy elements of Japan in terms of culture, mythology and '' Nihon Bukkyō''. The Japanese war fan, or ''tessen'' ( ja, 鉄扇,てっせん, tessen, translation="iron fan"), is a weaponized Japanese hand fan designed for use in warfare. Several types of war fans were used by the samurai class of feudal Japan and each had a different look and purpose. Description War fans varied in size, materials, shape, and use.
