Joe's Shanghai
Joe's Shanghai () is a chain of seven Shanghainese restaurants in the United States and Japan. The original location was opened by restaurateur Mei Ping "Barbara" Matsumura and chef Kiu Sang "Joe" Si in 1995 in Flushing, Queens, followed by branches in Manhattan Chinatown and Midtown Manhattan. There are four locations in Japan, two in Tokyo, one in Osaka and one in Sendai. Zaro's Family Bakery is an American family-owned bakery, operating in the New York City metropolitan area. History The bakery was founded in The Bronx in 1927, by Joseph Zarubchik, a Polish immigrant, and is now operated by his grandsons, Stuart and Joseph. Old Homestead Steakhouse
The Old Homestead Steakhouse is a steakhouse established in 1868 whose flagship location is in Manhattan, New York City. The restaurant is the oldest continuously operating steakhouse in the United States. History In 1868, a German family established the Old Homestead Steakhouse, then called Tidewater Trading Post, in Manhattan's Meatpacking District on West 14th and 9th Avenue. In the 1940s long-time employee and former dishwasher, Harry Sherry, purchased the restaurant. Sherry later passed the legacy down to his family. Munson Diner is a historic diner located at Liberty in Sullivan County, New York. It was manufactured in 1945 by the Kullman Dining Car Company of Lebanon, New Jersey. It has a riveted steel frame and exterior of stainless steel and porcelain enamel. It has a long, rectangular form, 16 feet wide by 50 feet long. The interior has a plan typical of the diners of the 1940s and 1950s. It was moved from West 49th Street and 11th Avenue, New York City, to Liberty in 2005. Max and Mina's is an ice cream store in New York City, opened in 1997. Owned by brothers Bruce and Mark Becker, it is known for its ever-changing eccentric ice cream flavors, such as Cajun, Lox, Purple Mint Chip, beer, malt, and Isaac Mizrahi.
