Fingal, Tasmania
Fingal is a rural locality in the local government area (LGA) of Break O'Day in the North-east LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about south-west of the town of St Helens. The 2016 census recorded a population of 405 for the state suburb of Fingal. It is a small town in Fingal Valley in the north-east of Tasmania. History Fingal was gazetted as a locality in 1965. The Fingal area was surveyed in 1824 by Roderic O'Connor and John Helder Wedge, and is believed to have been named after Fingal's Cave in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland rather than Fingal in Ireland. The town of Fingal came into existence in 1827 as a convict station, and experienced a boom when Van Diemen's Land's first payable gold was discovered in nearby Mangana. Huon Valley
The Huon Valley, or simply the Huon, is a valley and geographic area located in southern Tasmania, Australia. The largest town is Huonville, with other smaller towns spread across the area. It includes Australia's most southern permanent settlement at Southport. The Huon Valley Council area had a population of 15,140 in 2011. Famed for its apple growing, the Valley was first settled by British colonists in the 1820s; prior to settlement the Huon Valley area was inhabited by the Mouheneenner, Nuenonne, Mellukerdee and Lyluequonny people. The area it is sometimes combined as the Huon-Channel area with the areas around D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Scottsdale, formerly known as Ellesmere, is a town in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. Oatlands is an important historical village on the shores of Lake Dulverton in the centre of Tasmania, Australia. Oatlands is located 84 km north of Hobart and 115 km south of Launceston on the Midland Highway. At the 2016 census, Oatlands had a population of 683. Oatlands is considered to have the largest number of colonial sandstone buildings in any town in Australia, and many of them were built by convict labour. It is the largest town in the Southern Midlands Council area and is surrounded by rich agricultural land. The station is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia. City Park Radio started broadcasting on 7 April 1986, from facilities in Newnham as 7LTN-fm. In 1988, the station moved to the 100-year-old City Park Cottage in Launceston's City Park and started using the name City Park Radio.
