This article lists the prime ministers of Republika Srpska, the head of the Politics of Republika Srpska#Cabinet, Government of Republika Srpska. The prime minister is nominated by the President of Republika Srpska, and appointed by the National Assembly (Republika Srpska), National Assembly of Republika Srpska. Radovan Višković is the 12th and current prime minister of Republika Srpska. He took office on 18 December 2018, following the 2018 Bosnian general election, 2018 general election. Seal Of Republika Srpska
The Seal of Republika Srpska with the description: the flag of Republika Srpska and the Cyrillic letters "РС" ("RS"), the red-blue-white tricolor are in the center of the seal, twisted with the golden Oak leaves, a traditional pre-Christian symbol sacred to most Slavs. On the edge of the seal there is an inscription ''Republika Srpska'' (in Cyrillic and Latin). The open crown of Kotromanić is shown in the bottom of the seal and the seal itself is topped with a heraldic royal crown. Biljana Plavšić
Biljana Plavšić ( sr-Cyrl, Биљана Плавшић; born 7 July 1930) is a former Bosnian Serb politician and university professor who served as President of Republika Srpska and was later convicted of crimes against humanity for her role in the Bosnian War. Plavšić was indicted in 2001 by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for war crimes committed during the Bosnian War. She plea-bargained with the ICTY and was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2003, to be served in a Swedish prison. She was released on 27 October 2009 after serving two-thirds of her sentence. Plavšić is, together with Radovan Karadžić, the highest ranking Bosnian Serb politician to be sentenced. Before entering politics, she taught biology at the University of Sarajevo. Dragan Mikerević (Serbian Cyrillic: Драган Микеревић; born 12 February 1955) is a Bosnian Serb politician. He served as the 8th Prime Minister of Republika Srpska from 17 January 2003 until 17 February 2005. He announced his resignation in December 2004 after conflicts with the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Previously, he served as the 5th Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 15 March 2002 until 23 December 2002, when a new government led by Adnan Terzić was formed after the 2002 Bosnian general election. Dragan Čavić ( sr-Cyrl, Драган Чавић; born 10 March 1958) is a Bosnian Serb politician who was the 5th President of Republika Srpska from 28 November 2002 until 9 November 2006, after having been Vice President from 2000 to 2002. From 20 July 2004 until 15 December 2006, he was the President of the Serb Democratic Party. Education and personal life Čavić attended elementary and high school in Banja Luka, and graduated from the Economics Faculty of the University of Banja Luka in 1980. He worked as an economist, financial manager and commercial director in several public and private companies. Čavić is married and has a son and a daughter. 2000 Republika Srpska General Election
General elections were held in Republika Srpska on 11 November 2000 alongside nationwide parliamentary elections. They were the third general elections in Republika Srpska since the end of Bosnian War. After refusing to nominate Milorad Dodik as Prime Minister, President Nikola Poplašen was deposed in 1999 after less than a year in position by Carlos Westendorp, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Petar Đokić was named acting president until election. In the meantime Poplašen's Serbian Radical Party was banned from elections. Mladen Ivanić ( sr-cyr, Младен Иванић, ; born 16 September 1958) is a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 6th Serb Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 17 November 2014 until 20 November 2018. He is the founder, member and former president of the Party of Democratic Progress. Ivanić also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 23 December 2002 until 11 January 2007. Mirko Šarović ( sr-cyrl, Мирко Шаровић; born 16 September 1956) is a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 3rd Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2003. From 2000 to 2002, he also served as the 4th president of Republika Srpska and was Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations on two occasions as well. Nikola Poplašen (Никола Поплашен; born 15 December 1951 in Sombor) is a former Bosnian Serb politician. He was the president of Republika Srpska from late 1998 to 1999. He was removed by the High Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Carlos Westendorp, on 5 March 1999. The removal was enforced on 2 September 1999. Following his removal from the presidency, he also worked as a member of the Senate of Republika Srpska. He testified as a defense witness for Radovan Karadžić in his trial.
